Don Vito: ‘Just Kill Me Now”

Ha ha, remember the wacky uncle Vincent Margera from MTV’s show Viva La Bam? Well, yesterday he was convicted of two counts of sexual assault on a child at a skate park last year. He could end up spending the rest of his life in prison for it!

After hearing the verdict, the Associated Press reported Don Vito fell to the floor cursing and shouted, “Just kill me now!” Vito faces probation to six years for each count, but if he doesn’t comply with the sex offender treatment, he could end up dying in prison.

It’s a little strange how he was convicted. After all, he had this defense:

Defense attorney Pamela Mackey had argued that when Margera appeared at the skate park, he took on the persona of the outrageous and profane Don Vito. Mackey had said that Margera, a car painter, learned that the crazier he acted, the more his fans loved it.

It’s always the fault of the fans. Sentencing is Dec. 20!

Bad Things Happen When You Go To Colorado

Don Vito, Bam Margera’s uncle and a star of (natch) Viva La Bam, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two 12-year-old girls.

The 50-year-old “actor” — that’s what they’re calling him — also has a woman accusing him of licking her face after asking to pose for a photo with him.

Don Vito (real name: Vincent Margera) was in Colorado filming promos for ManiaTV.com:

Vincent Margera came to Colorado to film promotional material for ManiaTV.com, which first reported his arrest. ManiaTV.com founder Drew Massey said Margera had finished his work before the arrest.

Hey, when you get a scoop, you get a scoop.

Blogicized: Feel The Burn

• Breaking! Breaking! Jane Fonda will be at the Penn bookstore on Thursday. That’s 4/20, too, so there will be probably be about at least 50 totally baked people in the audience. High-larious. [Metroblogging Philadelphia]

• The me-in-cartoon-form revolution continues with love for Jay’s work over at MyDD. Of course, I’m not sure what part “could have been taken from one of our blog posts.” Maybe a commenter joked about Weldon shooting Marty Moss-Coane or something. [MyDD]

• Sad news, as it’s rumored that Don Vito is in the hospital. Vito, of course, was the loveable uncle on the way-better-than-you’d-ever-expect-it-to-be Viva La Bame, which I’d agree was full of all the suburban Philadelphia goodness that I don’t know if you can get anywhere else. [Philebrity]

• Every time you start to dislike the Philadelphia Daily News, you can just look at the cluttered front pages of the New York Post and feel a little better that, at the very worst, at last our city’s tab is designed well. [SteveSilver.net]

• The Phillies departed this town 1-5, but now that they’re returning 5-7 — hey, it’s a little better, okay — after a nice road trip we can all be somewhat excited. Even better, yesterday was the first time in 888 games that a visiting team won 1-0 in homer happy Coors Field. [Beerleaguer]
