Since it’s a slow news day, I stumbled over to YouTube to check and see if there were any new puppy videos I should watch. But I ended up searching “Philadelphia Eagles,” and found something that might even be better: The Groundhog Day Game.
This doesn’t have Merrill Reese’s call that led to the game’s name, but it does have John Madden and Pat Summerall back when they were a solid announcing team, and since there’s absolutely nothing going on right now, I figured I’d pass it along.
Remember when the Cowboys had awful coaches like Barry Switzer and things like this would just happen? Remember when beating the Cowboys was a huge treat and it was the highlight of the season? It’s nice that the Eagles are now a solid team almost every year (besides the last one, of course), but sometimes I miss the good old days. Oh, yeah, and this video has a Mike Mamula sighting. Incredible.
Oh, yeah, and this reminds me how much I miss the old Eagles logo.
