76-Cent Gas Causes Stir

042808gasprices.jpg

Fox 29 on Friday featured a report on 76-cent gas prices at the Lukoil station at Delaware and Spring Garden; the 76-minute long promotion was sponsored by the 76ers.

But drivers started filling up with 76-cent gas a little early and — whoops! — the promotion ended about 15 minutes early. The Fox report features angered drivers claiming “They lied to us!” and “They owe us 16 minutes!” Apparently everything was straightened out in the end, but not before some screaming.

Redlasso video after the jump (includes Kerri-Lee Halkett intro, naturally).

Spicing Up This Blah Friday Morning

If this doesn’t get you through it, just think: In an hour, it’ll be Friday afternoon.

Video: Bill Henley’s double entendre

The second video of today is a bit of an old one, but since I finally got everything set up, I figured I’d pass it on. A few weeks ago my friend and local quizmaster, Johnny Goodtimes, happened to co-host the NBC mid-morning talk show, 10! I recorded it, and as such caught this moment.

He and co-host Bill Henley interviewed Miss America Jennifer Berry. She was showing off her crown, and the box her crown came in…

If you listen closely, you can hear crew members laughing after Henley says his unintentional one-liner.

This is NOT my kind of story

020806witnesspuppy.jpg One of the video links last night on CNN.com said “Watch: Puppies thrown from truck.” Naturally, there was no actual puppy-throwing in the video, just some eyewitness testimony (the man at left; HR says if I post any more photos of puppies this week, they’re going to sic a cat on me).

The video report of the Florida puppy-throwing event (I think it’s in the 2008 Olympics) is fantastic. They show a bunch of puppies and say “Life hasn’t been easy for these puppies,” and then have the eyewitness who has an extremely detailed account of the puppy-throwing. Then they goto the suspect’s house — the man arrested for puppy-throwing — and a different man walks up, curses off the reporter (it’s bleeped) and argues with the reporter over his property line. Then she keeps asking, “What is your name?” and he replies “Umm… none of your business!” and drives off backwards down the street and almost hits a car.

Oh, yeah, and the suspect is a pastor at a local church.

FAN-tastic. If a bunch of puppies didn’t have to get thrown off a truck to make this story, it’d be win-win for everyone.

Whatever it is, I don’t want to see it

And they say Philly.com isn’t a good website.
