That John Is A Bad Murtha–Shut Your Mouth!

100407murtha.jpg

John Murtha, a U.S. Representative from Western Pennsylvania, is a war hero who conservatives don’t like because he doesn’t support all wars, namely the little trillion-dollar war (that was supposed to pay for itself) going on now. He’s also one of the kings of pork projects on Congress, and is one of the members who doesn’t want transparency.

And, also, he’s totally awesome because he curses at reporters:

“After a recent House vote, [Murtha] stopped for a moment in the lobby adjacent to the House floor, just steps from his corner, to take a question from a reporter about the difficulty of piecing together which members got how much money for which projects in his bill.”

“Murtha answered abruptly before walking away. ‘So, you have to work,’ he said. ‘Tough shit.’”

Ha! You can waste as much money as you want, Johnny, as long as you keep cursing at reporters. That shit is comedy gold.

Patrick Murphy Fitting In With Politicians Just Fine

030607groundhogday.jpg

As the U.S. Congress’ only newcomer who served in the current Iraq war, Patrick Murphy’s opinions on the current conflict — as well as the troop escalation plan — carry extra weight. (I guess. I ‘unno.)

But, as you can see, the Iraq vet is fitting in right well with the politicians, as he recently did a nice job of making an out-of-date reference, a politician’s best friend:

“They are getting frustrated. They feel like it’s (the Bill Murray movie) ‘Groundhog Day’ now, four years later, that the Iraqis continue not to stand up, no matter what we do.”

If only the Iraqi army had seen Groundhog Day. Then they’d slap their foreheads and would know what the soldiers were talking about. “Oh! ‘Groundhog Day!’ They’re getting tired, we gotta stand up for ourselves!”
