Rep’s Constituent Services Apparently Didn’t Shape Up

According to Action News, somebody firebombed the office of Thomas Blackwell, a state representative.

Flames broke out on the first floor, but firefighters quickly controlled the blaze. And what legislation did Tommy Blackwell recently introduce? That’s right, a bill banning liquor sales at gas stations and grocery stores. (He’s against freedom, you see.)

“There are already plenty of places where people can purchase beer, and the toughest place to enforce the ban on malt beverage sales to minors is at the retail level,” he said in his own press release. “It is already a problem — why would we want to allow it to get even worse?”

Looks like we have a likely culprit for firebombing State Rep. King Kong Bundy’s offices: Uhh, cases of beer.

Where’s Your Messiah Now?

Inspired by the Amish shootings earlier this week, our state’s fine lawmakers are really take a long time to reflect before they reflect even harder on how they can exploit this tragedy for personal gain.

Okay, it’s not that bad. Obviously, not every lawmaker pushing for stricter gun laws is using the Amish, even if they reference it. And, yeah, nobody in our state legislature is all that callous. But you could cut the tension in the State House with a knife, as they say, especially when Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, from Butler county, said that allowing Philly to ban assault weapons was wrong. In fact, it gets so tense that the accusations start flying (emphasis mine):

“What in the world does anybody need an assault weapon on the streets of Philadelphia for?” asked Rep. Thomas Blackwell, a Philadelphia Democrat. “Just yesterday all those children were killed. What God do you serve?

“I am who am,” responded Metcalfe, as a bush burst into flames and quieted all debate.
