Blogicized: Ricky On Myspace!

• Someone sets up a Rick Santorum page on Myspace, and it gets taken down when his campaign staff complains. Then they blame it on a “radical left-leaning organization,” which means his campaign staff totally did it themselves. [The All Spin Zone]

• Congrats to Enrico Campitelli of The 700 Level, who was profiled in Metro today and then went to his blog to complain they used a bad photo. Yep, that’s what Lynne Abraham says every day. [The 700 Level]

• Unfortunately, Terrell Owens’ game against the Eagles on Christmas is in Dallas. But he comes to Philly Oct. 8! [Scrapple]

• Rep. Marie Lederer decided to do the opposed a nice fun upstairs music venue, and now the Johnny Brenda’s upstairs music venue is no more (for now). Sigh. [Her Jazz]

• And, in case Ted’s needs a new idea for a ad campaign, a local blogger has come up with a few ideas. [The 14th Windiest State]

Someone Wants You To Give Ted’s Montana Grill A Shot

This week, I’ve twice mentioned the odd advertisement for Ted’s Montana Grill, which debuted in January at Broad and Spruce. The ad’s copy is a quote from Howard Gensler of the Philadelphia Daily News, which reads, in full: “Ted’s is definitely worth a shot.”

I’m not quite sure why this was chosen as the tagline for their ads — it seems a little too lukewarm of a review. But maybe they’re on to something. It does seem like an actual quote, not like the usual “Fantastic! The Best Thing Ever!”-esque advertisements you usually see.

Still, odd. But maybe they’re trying to build a campaign on giving Ted’s a shot. And, judging by this Metroblogging Philadelphia review, maybe it’s working:

Overall, give it a shot and don’t go for something outrageous as my burger.

Give Ted’s a shot! Everyone’s doing it!

Howard Gensler’s Lukewarm Reviews Will Surely Bring In The Big Bucks

Yesterday, I wrote about the Ted’s Montana Grill sandwichboard that had a somewhat-lukewarm review on it. Spotted by an alert reader, an ad I haven’t seen on the PW website’s rotation:

I can only hope that Gensler will give this website a similar review, i.e. “Philadelphia Will Do is definitely a website on the Internet.” Then the money’ll just start rolling in.

In case you can’t read that, it says this:

“Ted’s is definitely worth a shot.”

Coming next on the sandwich board outside Ted’s: “Boy, this place sure is adequate. — Dan Gross, Philadelphia Daily News.”
