Blogicized: I’m telling mommy!

• Will Bunch goes all, “Stu Bykofsky doesn’t care about Washington politics!” [Attytood]

• Everyone’s favorite Inquirer sports columnist Stephen A. Smith — who’s back on the anti-La Salle beat — and his show, Quite Frankly, is moving to 11 p.m. So now you can stay up late and not watch. [Deadspin]

• It’s never too early to prepare for Philadelphia Restaurant Week, from Feb. 19-24. Okay, maybe it’s a little early. [Philadelphia Restaurants]

• The Dirty Jerz goes all progressive on us: Homosexual partners can get same rights of burial and inheritance and straight couples and they may get rid of the death penalty. And they’re banning smoking soon, too? The times they are a-changin’ in New Jersey. [A Smoke Filled Room]

• Occassional Daily News columnist Christine Flowers and a blogger exchange nasty emails; the blogger whines to the editorial page editor of the Daily News in an email. [Brendan Calling from the Underground]

Quickies: Metro enters into, oh, 1997 or so

• Got an e-mail yesterday from a staffer at a local publication: “If you didn’t already know, I wanted to give you a heads up that we launched our web site today.” (I cut all the gushing.) Gushing, my friends, is how you get me to link you. Or be my friend. Anyway, I’ll hold up my end of the bargain: Metro Philadelphia now has a website. Huzzah! [Metro Philly]

• Studies show that towns — before they were destroyed by hurricanes — that had slots parlors were wise to put them downtown. Philadelphia, of course, is likely to not put the slots parlor on that prime piece of land where the Funk-O-Mart currently sits. [Inky]

• Steven A. was on Letterman last night. I apologize for not covering this, but, uhm, yeah. Late night television. [Deadspin]

• I can’t find a fourth link right now. So here’s a cute, fluffy puppy. [Flickr]

Blogicized: Stephen A. uses protection

• Apparently Inky columnist Stephen A. Smith was at the USC-UCLA game over the weekend with a pair of bodyguards. All I have to say: Yikes. [BenMaller.com via Deadspin]

• Now this is shocking: SEPTA actually makes something easier to read, by adding the ability to read train/bus schedules in HTML format. So, you know, they’re at about 1996 now. Pretty soon they’ll have a blog. [Snooble]

• Tabletop armies and hanging intestines? Now this is art I can get into. [artblog]

• Even though it’s almost two years until the election, TheNextMayor.com has sprung into action, which will try to convince Philadelphia residents that the next mayor will actually listen to what they have to say! Perhaps that’s being too cynical. Eh, maybe not. Let’s just end the day and move on. Let’s hope for snow, I guess. [Attytood]
