Trust Me, This Show Is Awful

Yesterday, Philly.com front, late afternoon:

Last Wednesday, PW ran my review of Trust Me, which basically made fun of TNT’s horrible new show for 400 words.

Just be sure to know: No matter the issue, Philly.com and I will be in direct opposition on it.

Phillies/D-Mac Fever Spreading

My buddy works for SI.com and he asked me to write something about the local baseball nine. Here’s my piece about the Phillies and Philadelphia on their FanNation blog thingy.

I believe I forgot to credit Occasional Glory, David Jordan’s well-done book about the history of the Phillies; one or two of the factoids originally came from there.

Update: Be sure to check out the comments, e.g.:

Michael Phelps Saga Turns Sour

Okay, now this is a turn in the the Michael Phelps lovefest I can finally get interested in.

It finally starts to sink in for Phelps [AP/Philly.com]
Thanks, Saurabh!

More Shameless Self-Promotion

Hey, last time on this. (Ha, not likely.) I’ve done a few more posts on the Vanity Fair blog.

On Assignment

I’m at the Phillies, doing a story about… uhm… I’m doing a total immersion piece on fan interactions of drunken Phillies fans. Yeah, that sounds good. I’ll post about it after the game. You may tide yourself over with the post about a George H.W. Bush speech in 1989 which for some reason enlists the Denver Broncos to fight the war on drugs.

In other news, I’m blogging the Olympics for Vanity Fair. Ha ha, best joke ever on Philadelphia Will Do!

I Get By With A Little Yelp From My Friends

As you can see from the screenshot above, I am a featured Yelper. The one review I’ve done (on The Gallery) clearly puts me in featured status.

I could not be any more flattered by this honor.

Thanks, Emily G

Will Do Tumblr

There is now a Philadelphia Will Do Tumblr. I’ll update it with random stuff not necessarily fit for the blog. (Note: I have no idea what that means. Whatever.) Huzzah for cross-promotion!

Drug Roar

My column this week is about drug-free school zones, with bonus font specificity!

Me, On The Internet

Hey, here’s me on the On the DL podcast, the 2008 new media cross-promotion spectacular. If you have the stomach for it, you can listen to me ramble on about blogging and drugs — and then say something stupid every couple of minutes! Woo-hoo.

Way Back Base Ball

I’m going to be doing an occasional feature about old-timey baseball for Walkoff Walk, one of my favorite baseball blogs. And here’s the first one, about a player in the 1800s who trained with a steel baseball only to have the batters wait him out — there were no balls and strikes back then — and throw 300 pitches through the first three innings of a baseball game. He died at the age of 21 of natural causes, but I decided to re-write history and say his arm fell off.
