This is Tim Lake and Renee Chenault-Fattah, in, uh, cartoon form. Now Irresistible Ella isn’t the only cartoon anchor the station has. I don’t know what to think of this. honestly.

NBC 10 Faces Credibility Problem (In Unrelated News, Anchor’s Husband Could Run For Mayor)

Today’s Daily News cover story by Catherine Lucey notes the possible dilemma NBC 10 could be facing if Chaka Fattah decides to run for mayor. Fattah’s wife, Renee Chenault-Fattah, is an anchor for NBC 10.

Certainly a story, but we wonder why it got the front-page treatment. Anyway, here’s the dilemma in a nutshell:

But trouble could be brewing in professional paradise. If the six-term congressman decides to run for mayor next year, NBC10 will have to decide whether its credibility would take a hit if it kept Renee Chenault-Fattah as a nightly news anchors. ΒΆ It’s a dilemma born of a modern marriage. Either the station keeps Chenault-Fattah as an anchor, risking - fairly or unfairly - charges of bias, or it shifts her to a different job, effectively punishing a successful professional for her marriage.

Yes, it could risk the credibility of the NBC 10, the station that brought us its anchors and weathermen fighting like fifth-graders, a slideshow of teachers in student sex cases, the in-depth report on the vicious goose, dress-’em-up weatherpeople, talking Barbaro and (last but not least) Irresistible Ella.

Yeah. Having Chenault-Fattah anchor the 11 p.m. news would really ruin the station’s credibility.
