Could you get a little less technical?

Let’s begin today’s oh-so-let’s-get-out-of-here-as-soon-as-possible day of blog posting with a simple crime in Bucks County:

Antonio Potalivo, 20, Philadelphia, 6:15 p.m., Wed, theft by un-lawful taking at Target, Bensalem.

He could have gotten away with it had he just taken it lawfully. Geeze.

But did the motorist get a ticket?

This accident in Penndel is probably my favorite Bucks County Courier Times police log entry ever:

Wed, no time given, Penndel police officer struck a deer while following motorist for traffic violation on I-95, substantial damage to vehicle, no reported injuries to officer.

As a Pennsylvania resident, the Penndel police officer can legally claim the deer’s dead body. So at least he’s got that going for him.

Chamber of horrors

Your crime of the day, from (of course) the Bucks County Courier Times public safety log:

Emilie Rd., Levittown, Sat, no time given, Stanley toolbox, antique chamber pot, carton of cigarettes, $734 value.

Luckily for the owners, they left the brand new chamber pot untouched.

A real pig in a poke

120605pork.jpg One of the good things about being a blogger is that I don’t have to worry about pork-related injury on the job:

Falling meat hurts Hatfield worker: An employee at Hatfield Quality Meats was injured Monday morning when a chunk of pork fell from a rack and knocked him down.

Police responded to the business at about 10 a.m. and indicated the worker was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

“Obviously, employee safety is a key concern here,” said Eric Haman, the company’s communications manager. “He was shifting some product that was up around head level and a piece of product came down.”

He declined to identify the worker but said he believed the man was taken to the hospital as a precaution. His injuries did not appear to be serious.

Phew. At least he’s okay.
