Plastic Baby Jesus Kidnapped

Last month, there was a bit of a wild run on news in Western Pennsylvania. There was the deer stuck in the warehouse, the dog who jumped off the bridge and the case of the stolen nativity scene.

Well, one of those crimes was transported over here to Eastern Pennsylvania, as NBC 10 reported yesterday a plastic baby Jesus had been stolen from a Warminster family’s home. (This is not to be confused with the rash of expensive lawn ornament thefts in South Jersey. Those thefts are done for economic reasons rather than sacrilegious ones.)

The family to whom the plastic representation of our Lord and Savior belonged to is upset and confused:

Michele Viola said that baby Jesus was secured by screws in the manger. And now she said the whole thing is missing.

“I don’t know if we can replace just the baby Jesus without replacing the whole nativity”, said Viola.

She said the hardest part is trying to explain it to their 10-year-old son, Tyler.

“He can’t understand the concept. He asks why would someone steal baby Jesus?” said Michele Viola. “We’re having a hard time explaining that to him.”
