Official Friend-of-Philadelphia Will Do Brad Maule put up another one of his excellent aerial slideshows today, this one called Lovecopter. (This is like a Love Train except people all over the world aren’t invited to join in. And it flies!)
There are a couple of absolutely awesome skyline shots, but my favorite has to be the one above: An American flag (which, thanks to weathering, only has 12 stripes and 44 stars) on the roof of Cherry Hill Toyota. Lest you think this foreign car dealership hates America, by golly, just look at the roof!
Do you think Cherry Hill Nissan has a crying eagle painted on its roof? One can only surmise.

Above is Rays manager Joe Maddon, who you’ll probably be hearing about a lot during the World Series. He’s wacky! He’s an iconoclast! He wears wacky glasses!
And, so, as a public service to you, the reader, I’ve provided several photographs of people who you can derisively compare Joe Maddon to during the World Series.

This is apparently Shibe Park during the 1914 World Series, when A’s lost to the Boston Braves. They didn’t win any games in the playoffs, just like the Phillies this year! Pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training Feb. 13! (”Spring” training.) We don’t have the Athletics anymore, but the Phillies will do for now. They could be good!

Hey, so photographer R. Bradley Maule of Phillyskyline sent me the above photograph — PLUG: He probably still has calendars for sale, featuring my birthday! — taken during the Mummers Parade yesterday.
Ron Paul didn’t have a whole fancy brigade or string band — though I hear his supporters tried to hijack, ahh, let’s say, Aqua String Band — but he did have some supporters who were, no doubt, made of gold.

The above photo is of the last moments of a cow’s life. After the morning newspaper in Danville, Pa. (map) ran this photo, several readers called in to complain and threatened to cancel their subscriptions. Here’s the :
Media around the world grapple with decisions about when to publish graphic images. These include the aftermath of terrorist attacks and images of war. Photos have power that words cannot match. Decisions about publishing disturbing photos are never taken lightly. Shock value alone does not justify publication.
Wednesday, The Daily Item published a photograph of a police officer shooting one of two cows that had escaped from a trailer.

I love this view of the Comcast Center from Dilworth Plaza.
It’s September 27. It’s 85 degrees outside. Go out and eat some ice cream or something. I love fall, but let’s enjoy summer for a bit longer.

I live in Center City on a beautiful tree-lined street. It’s called Clinton Street; as you might have guessed, it’s named after Parliament Funkadelic’s own George Clinton. Or possibly it’s named after Bill Clinton. Or, rather, after someone who was actually born when the street got it’s name. Either way, it’s a cute two-block street with apartments, rich people and trees.
Unfortunately, that last one was a bit of a problem last night. See the circled tree above? It’s about 15 feet from my apartment. And now, it’s a little closer to it (click to enlarge).
More photos after the jump.

In the last 2-3 weeks, coveted Best of Citysearch signs went up across town. (Citysearch is a Microsoft-owned bar, restaurant, nightlife et al guide, in case you don’t use the Internet.)
And, uh, there’s one little snag, as Phillyskyline.com’s Brad Maule points out:
Yep. Joe’s Pizza of Philadelphia: The best of Columbus, Ohio.

Today’s Metro contains a page 2 story about Eagles fans in New Orleans for Saturday’s game against the Saints. The story runs with this photo.
Oh, I always forget how to do these things. Are these the kinds of things with Goofus and Gallant? No no, wait. It’s like a “find what’s different in these photos” except with only one photo and just something funny in the background. Now how do I direct you to find that?
Sigh. Just join me after the jump.
