Obscene Display In LOVE Park

Here’s the clip of the LOVE Park makeout session, which apparently came out today, just in time for Valentine’s Day! (Or, rather, for [x], where [x] is Christmas:Boxing Day::Presidents’ Day::[x]. Vice Presidents’ Day, maybe?)

Anyway, it’s pretty cute, so it’s worth a viewing. Uwishunu has more.

Philly Internet Users Love Bad Words

Turns out we’re not just searching for “penis” here in Philadelphia! Silicon Alley Insider used Google to rank the top cities in the U.S. by number of searches for one of the seven words you can’t say on television, and little ol’ Philadelphia came in third.

Louisville, Ky., was the overall winner, and Rochester, N.Y., took second. Philly narrowly edged out Newark, N.J., and Los Angeles. On the plus side, the blog also notes that Google Trends is being used to show that Pensacola, Fla., is not so pure as a defense in an obscenity case. All we need is an ad campaign to attract pornographers to film their productions here, and the tax bucks will start rolling in.

Let’s Not Talk About Sex

woman

The case of the woman in Scranton arrested for cursing at her toilet (which I wrote about three times, if you can believe that) is now before a judge. Wait, really? Why is this at trial?

If you’ve forgotten, the woman said fuck because her toilet was overflowing, her next door neighbor (a Scranton cop) heard her, and asked her to stop, and she cursed at him. He then called the police. I guess you can’t curse at your neighbors now.

But Dyller says for her speech to be criminal and not protected by the First Amendment, it would have to be obscene: “That has to do with sexual language and not just a curse, which may offend someone, but we’re allowed to engage in offensive speech.”

So, basically, we can’t use sexual language in public. I see how it is.
