Court Rules: MGD Is Beer (Wait, Really?)
A Pennsylvania state court judge has ruled that Miller Genuine Draft is beer. Indeed! The ruling stems from a court case involving 44-year-old Gregg Hartman of Kutztown, who is accused of buying beer for a 17-year-old back in 2004. The case, though, was originally thrown out because Jeffrey K. Sprecher said the prosecutors failed to prove MGD is beer. “It’s equally plausible that the defendant purchased a nonalcoholic beverage with a flavor similar to beer,” Judge Sprecher wrote, immediately making him awesome. But the state Superior Court reversed the decision, saying that the 17-year-old’s testimony was enough to prove that Miller Genuine Draft is, indeed, beer. MGD Light, however, remains dishwater.
