NBC 10 Reports NBC 10 Can’t Get Answers

“Only NBC 10 was there as [Marvin] Harrison arrived back in Philadelphia Monday after leaving mini camp in Indianapolis.” Wow, what a scoop!

Unfortunately for NBC 10, NFL Player Avoids NBC10 Questions In Connection With Shooting, as the headline says. That didn’t stop this from being the lead story (apparently) on the 6 o’clock news yesterday:

“Hey, Marvin, do you want to clear anything up,” NBC 10’s John Clark asked.

Clark met Harrison at the Philadelphia International Airport Monday.

“Hey Harrison,” Clark said.

Harrison talked on his cell phone and suddenly changed directions several times to avoid a single question from NBC 10. Moments later while still on his cell phone, he walked into an office and closed the door.

After coming out, Harrison got creative. He faked running down a set of stairs in an apparent attempt to confuse the NBC 10 photographer.

He won’t even take questions from John Clark, the happiest man in Philadelphia? Whoa, you know something is wrong, then.

Marvin Harrison Tale Gets Surreal

Dan Gross reported last week that 6 ABC’s Keith Russell talked about the Marvin Harrison situation on a radio show and didn’t exactly stick to the, um, facts (apparently I missed it on PFT also):

6ABC sports anchor Keith Russell has reportedly supplied wholly unsubstantiated details to a Florida radio station about last week’s shooting linked to Marvin Harrison, the Indianapolis Colts and Roman Catholic football star. [...] According to ProFootballTalk. com, Russell appeared with Jason Jackson on Miami’s WQAM, and said his sources told him that the man who was shot had come to carry out a gangland-style hit on Harrison. According to the Web site, Russell said during the segment that the issue relates to Harrison’s father, who Russell told the radio station was incarcerated.

Harrison’s father is deceased, according to several stories. But, hey, who knows! Maybe his pops is the movie version of the Kingpin and we’ve all been lied to!

Your Marvin Harrison Update

ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reported the other day that six of the bullet casings police removed from the wall of Marvin Harrison’s car wash — what is it with athletes and car washes! — belonged to a gun registered to the Colts wide receiver.

Harrison’s people have said he wasn’t involved in the shooting and neither was his gun. But if his gun is involved in the shooting, he could get in trouble anyway even if he wasn’t involved at all. Whoops! Apparently he could be charged with a misdemeanor and — even worse — could violate the NFL’s gun policy.

WIP: Marvin Harrison Investigated In Shooting

Hey, we Philadelphia fans may have a bad reputation — and some Philly athletes don’t exactly have stellar resumes — but at least we have Marvin Harrison, eh? Roman Catholic guy (the school), really nice guy, everybody likes him.

Oh. A report on 610 WIP (I know! Something notable!) says Harrison is being investigated for a shooting outside his North Philadelphia bar, Playmakers — note: no one has been able to confirm the existence of this actual bar — on Tuesday.

The source said the alleged victim came into the bar, Playmakers, around 5 p.m. and engaged in an argument with Harrison, who was at the bar. The victim then left the bar, heading to his car, with Harrison following. Gunfire broke out, the victim was hit in the hand, and a young girl was slightly injured by flying glass from a car that apparently was hit by a bullet.

Police came to scene, but the victim did not identify a shooter. On Wednesday, according to the source, ballistic tests showed that the gun that had fired the shots was a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined that Harrison owned such a gun.

Police then went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison to question him about the gun. Harrison admitted owning such a weapon, but claimed it never left his suburban Philadelphia home. However, the source said the gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests showed that it had fired seven bullets that matched those found at the scene.

Seriously? Wow. When a friend first IMed me with “Marvin Harrison???” I thought the Eagles had just traded for him.

Update: Dave Schratweiser on Fox 29 reports just now the police have no suspects, although Marvin Harrison was questioned. And they showed the bar on TV, so we now know it exists, and is at 25th and Thompson.
