Liz Spikol Continues To Take Over Media

PW executive editor/blogger/all-around cool gal Liz Spikol hasn’t stopped her quest for world domination at the New York Times. She’s headed across the pond as well.

Yesterday, Liz’s first name was the fifth word in a piece about the increased acceptance of mental illness in The Sunday Times. There’s also apparently something called “Bonkersfest,” which features “a moving padded cell, a de-normalisation programme, and performance art by Bobby Baker featuring seven adults dressed as frozen peas.” Sounds downright staid.

Hmm… now that The Trouble With Spikol has mentions in major newspapers in both the U.S. and England, I should re-title this blog “Paxil Will Do.”

Other ‘PW’ Blogger One-Ups Me

It appears both current Philadelphia Weekly bloggers were in the news over the weekend as Liz Spikol was written up in the New York Times over the weekend.

Geeze, you’d think it’s 2006 with all these stories on bloggers. What’s next, another racehorse who breaks his leg in the Triple Crown? Er.

And, yes, if you haven’t seen it, here’s my clip on the Friday 10 o’clock news.

It’s Gotta Be The Glasses

Aww, our little Liz Spikol is hitting the big time! And by “big time,” I mean “YouTube.” (Which is pretty much the big time nowadays.) Her new YouTube video, From depression to desperation, was briefly on the first page of the top-rated section today.

And, aside from the video, what do the people heart about Liz? Why, I can’t put my finger on it

“hip glasses are my choice (but you can’t look bad)” — DaleATL2

“A brave woman who looks lovely both in all her glasses (the smart ones line up with your eyebrows in a nice way)” — Freshette

“i like the hip glasses :)” — itsatiffanything

“and both of the glasses are fantastic too!” — LilySina

“I like the glasses in your Director icon pic.” — Latinlabel

“Lastly Hip or smart they [the glasses] both = Sexy” — ctitchen

For the record… The boring glasses: Jill Stewart. The more exciting ones: Candies.
