Joe Biden Asked Hilarious Questions

Check out the clip above, where WFTV anchor Barbara West (whoever that is) interviews Joe Biden and quotes Karl Marx. No, really, she does. This new “Obama is a socialist/Marxist” meme is pretty awesome. Trust me, if Barack Obama were a Marxist I’d be encouraging you to vote for him every day. Not because I’m a Marxist but because it’d be so freaking awesome to have a socialist president. Think of the hijinks!

But I digress. The best part of this interview is how West’s doesn’t respond to any of Biden’s answers. It’s not an interview, really. It’s more like Biden got a list of questions he had to answer and he’s responding to them incredulously since they quote Karl Marx and ask if America’s days as a world power are over and such. And West just keeps asking seemingly fake questions even as Biden wonders if this is a Comedy Central stunt or something. It’s like she’s not even paying attention. Simply awesome.

How I Learned To Stop Running And Just Play Wii Sports

The other day, I posted about Mickey DeLorenzo, a Philadelphian and Nintendo Wii owner who spend six weeks attempting to get in shape with the new console. The Wii is Nintendo’s new console that comes with a motion-sensing remote and has the super-addictive Wii Sports, a game that essentially lets you mimic the motions of bowling, tennis, etc.

DeLorenzo not only lost nine pounds in his six weeks, but cut his body fat and made a great shot-by-shot parody of the Rocky video, only holding his Wii remote and nunchuk accessory while doing the run and splicing in some shots of Wii Boxing.

I chatted with DeLorenzo yesterday about the Nintendo Wii, exercise and his 15 minutes of fame.

Ed Rendell: The Philadelphia Will Do interview

022206edrendell.jpg If Ed Rendell has a 2006 like the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2005, he’s going to be looking for a new job. A year after his favorite team stumbled to a 6-10 record and missed the playoffs for the first time since 1999. Coincidentally, that’s the year Rendell left office as Philadelphia mayor, only to return to win Pennsylvania’s gubernatorial election in 2002. (He also returned doing Eagles postgame commentary on television.)

Rendell’s been labeled as a Philly-friendly governor, so expect heavy anti-cheesesteak propaganda from his Republican challenger — former Hall of Fame football player Lynn Swann — in the coming months. While the jury’s out on whether Fast Eddie is favorable to Philadelphia, it certainly doesn’t hurt the city to have him there. Expect a big turn-out-the-vote effort.

As part of PW’s ‘Next’ issue, online and at honor boxes around the city now, Philadelphia Will Do talked with Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell a few weeks ago. In the interest of political fairness, when I talked with Gov. Rendell, we decided to focus on the most important of topics for Philadelphians this year: Will the Eagles suck in 2006?
