‘Metro’ Debate Style:

I have to admit, the whole “poke fun at the funny answers in the Metro Today’s Debate” schtick has gotten a little old, even for this website. With that in mind, I’m going to launch a new occasional feature that I hopefully won’t forget about.

This is Metro Debate Style, where we look at the fashions of the kids interviewed in the Today’s Debate column. (It’s almost always kids.) This allows me to make fun of the Metro debate even when there are no actual funny answers! Yes, that’s right: It’s more easy content for me to make.

That, uh, great introduction aside, let’s hop to it, the first edition of Metro Debate Style.

• Maria Hosephros: A true environmentalist, Maria is clad in a sweatshirt and stylish blue snowflake pajamas, a perfect outfit for the recent cold weather. The weird thing is her shoes appear to match her pajamas, which means she’s wearing footie pajamas. Awesome, Maria. Awesome. Your footie pajamas and your gung-ho two thumbs up attitude would make even the surliest of Metro readers smile.

• Nick Hasselback: I think I had that sweater when I was 19.

• Anne Ha: Now this is awesome. The whole schoolgirl, jeans (I think) with a loose tie, blazer, etc. Is this a proto-hipster sighting? Why, I do believe it is! (Well, either that or it’s a big Avril Lavigne fan.)
