Last Place Team Trades Best Player

As much as everyone’s ragged on the 76ers this year, it’s the Philadelphia Flyers who are the worst team in town this winter. The Flyers are not only last in the league, but they’re last in the league by a full nine points. They’re 5-23 at home. And they’ve been playing better recently!

And so, last night, the Flyers followed the 76ers’ lead and traded away their best player, oft-injured center Peter Forsberg. They got a young guy, a prospect and two draft picks.

But here’s the best stat: Without Forsberg in the lineup this year, the Flyers are 0-17.

It’s going to be a long rest of the season.
