Liveblogging Nutter’s Victory Speech (Late)

Picture-8.jpg

My times are going to be off, since I’m watching it online, but whatever.

11:04 - Nutter informs us we’re going to have a tomorrow. No world destruction tonight, sweet.

11:07 - Nutter thanks his volunteers and calls them “Nutter Butter volunteers.” Then he thanks his daughter Olivia, who won him the election and who better get her allowance raised tremendously.

11:08 - Great election blah blablablabla.

11:10 - Nutter says there’s still an election and he has to beat mighty Al Taubenberger in November. Then he says let’s have the most rip roarin’ kegger in city history. Huzzah!

11:12 - The WHYY panel is incredible, they all seem to have that great love/hate relationship with the city. Meaning: They hate the city. This is great.

Nutter Already Facing Tough Questions From Citizens

Nutter

Okay, Michael Nutter was responsibly called by the Inquirer and the AP and your mom and everyone else. This might be good for the city; but who knows, he just won. But, right now, what I can say is this: It’s good because I can run that graphic at right again.

When Nutter finishes partying tonight at Denim or wherever, he will have to face a tough electorate. Namely, he’ll have to face the users of Phillyblog, the city’s finest location for discourse.

Perhaps Nutter too can open a PB account and come on here at least sometime and post?! I know at least one city councilman who has done it (Kenney).

Yeah. The mayor will post in Phillyblog with the Shock G/Nutter mashup as his avatar.

Default Ok, Nutter wins it. He better not… [Phillyblog]

Republican Votes Being Counted At Rapid Pace

Irresponsibly Calling The Mayor’s Race: It’s Nutter

Nutter

I did this back in November (ooh, twice!) and nobody revoked my license, so let’s do it again.

With 54 percent of the vote in, Michael Nutter has surged to a better than 10,000-vote lead, which means (irresponsibly):

Ladies and gentlemen, your new mayor of Philadelphia, Mr. Mix Master Mike himself, Michael Nutter.

Who’s Going To Win? Track The Results Live!

Okay, so the Phillies are up 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th inning. Adam Eaton didn’t allow an earned run until he served up a homer just now, but now Brett Myers came in for the four-out save. He struck out Bill Hall to end the 8th.

The official boxscore is here.

Oh, oh! The mayor’s race: 6 ABC is updating results every four minutes so you don’t have to. With 21 percent of precincts reporting, Nutter and Knox are in a dead heat. Milton Street is not in last in the City Council at-large race. (He’s next to last.)

Update: Aww, Shane Victorino was so safe at home! (They called him out.) Also, if you don’t want a Michael Nutteresque ad to pop up on your screen at 6 ABC, the front page of Philly.com has results.

Update 2: And Myers blew the save. You have to be kidding me.

Back Tonight!

Milton

Philadelphia Will Do will be back tonight as we learn the answers to important questions: Who will be mayor? Who robbed Tom Knox? (We might not learn this one.) Did Milton win his bid for City Council? Results and commentary later tonight.

The Dead Vote, Why Can’t Dogs?

According to KYW, Tom Knox brought his dog to the polliing place with him and handed out this card. Okay, maybe not that second part.
