TV News, Hot Off The Wire The three nominees from Philly are Kerri-Lee Halkett (Fox 29), Alycia Lane (CBS 3) and Erin O’Hearn (6 ABC). Me, I think like 99 percent of television news anchors are hot, but then again I am also angry at the lack of Rita Cosby on this sexy newsanchor poll. (No, I’m serious.) I fully support the idea of more attractive people on television, especially those of the sex I happen to be attracted to (women). Hot guys are okay, too, I suppose, though they don’t do much for me — with the exception of NBC 10’s Harry Hairston, rawr! But those three nominees, I’d say, have a good shot at winning this thing. But over at The Illadelph, they’re having a poll to decide who’s the hottest local TV anchor from the three on the FHM list and three others, which is a great idea even if Stephanie Abrams was left off the list. (I have a special affinity for the reports who are already on TV when I’m up at 6 a.m. Update, 5 p.m.: Oh, yeah, and Lauren Cohn.) Anyway, the other nominees over there are Jade McCarthy (NBC 10), Maria LaRosa (CBS 3) and Jessica Borg (6 ABC), the last of which would definitely win any newscaster list polling for best last name. I encourage you to go over there and vote, even though I wish I had done that newscaster bracket that I was thinking about doing at the start of March. (Oh well. Next year, next year.) I won’t taint your vote with who I’m voting for. Also, I’m having trouble deciding between Erin O’Hearn and Kerri-Lee Halkett. And before you say this contest is objectifying women or something similar, I will counter with simply this: Maybe. But there are no losers in a “hot television news anchor contest,” only winners.
