Down The Shore: Liquor Stores The Size Of An Elephant

Philadelphia Will Do continues its half-assed look at the shore — which is appropriate, actually — today with, probably, the greatest location in all of Jersey: Circle Liquors.

Circle Liquors sits just outside Ocean City, N.J., and while I mentioned it briefly in the paper today, I’d like to expand on its greatness.

Ocean City is dry, so there are a bunch of places to buy alcohol just over the bay in Somers Point. But the behemoth of them is Circle Liquors, which looks like a Wal-Mart and is roughtly the size of Lincoln Financial FIeld. But they’ll deliver to Ocean City, too, so you don’t even have to move.

What makes Jersey liquor stores great is that you can buy everything in one place. They sell beer, hard liquor, wine, etc. Everclear is legal, so you can get blind, too.– though, to be fair, it’s not like anyone wants to actually drink that. And the drinking age is 18!

Okay, maybe I made that last part up. (Or maybe it just seems like it.)
