Jon Runyan Cardboard Cutout Theft!

From a recent crime report in the Chestnut Hill Local. Emphasis mine:

Feb. 7. 7800 block of Germantown Ave. An unknown person took a 6′5″ cutout of football player Jon Runyan from the vestibule at McDonald’s at approximately 7:45 a.m. The suspect was described as a black male, 6′2″, between the ages of 26-30, wearing a maroon jacket. He fled in a white ambulance with blue writing northbound on Germantown Ave.

Hmm… if you see someone carrying a cardboard cutout of Jon Runyan, I think you have your man. Especially if it’s an ambulance driver!

Wacky Weed Mystery In Chestnut Hill

081806reefermadness.jpg

Okay, how does this happen, people? Somebody planted marjiuana in a few flower pots in Chestnut Hill and nobody told me. And now they’re gone, gone, gone, thrown away by someone who clearly didn’t know the prices he could have gotten on the open market.

It appears to be some sort of prank (duh), according to the Daily News, who got the story tip and some blurry photos of the potted weed — “America’s favorite,” the DN says — in what one landscaper says is some sort of attempt to embarrass Chestnut Hill.

Sadly, though, no embarrassment happened, and no smoking happened, either:

“I did the right thing,” said Bob Markowski, the landscaper in charge of keeping the planters watered and weeded. “I got rid of them. They’re in the dump.”

Uh, Mr. Markowski? Which dump? I mean, I’m just curious, that’s all.
