‘PW’ Chatted With The Losers!

PW’s Alli Katz was apparently not as tired of the election as I was and lugged a video camera all across the city yesterday, including the Famous 4th Street Deli. There, she interviewed Anne Dicker and Johnny Doc, who both lost to Larry Farnese in the First District Senate Race. What a sad video!

She also got video of Obama at Pat’s (of course) and a near-riot of Obama and Clinton supporters outside City Hall, putting my work ethic to shame.

State Senate Candidates Suck Up

Hey, all the First District candidates love the gays:

Two of the candidates - Anne Dicker and Larry Farnese - support gay marriage. John J. Dougherty says he is in favor of civil unions but would back legislation “to extend marriage to same-sex couples.” All three have promised to fight any effort to pass a constitutional amendment defining marriage as existing only between a man and a woman and say they back legislation banning discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Anne Dicker, you may know, is bisexual — but she’s married to a man, so don’t get your hopes up, ladies.

Challenger Anne Dicker’s camp sent over this ad for Vince Fumo’s State Senate re-election bid yesterday, complaining that Fumo really hasn’t done much for illegal guns on the streets. Fair enough.

But I believe the real beauty in this ad is, um, the ad itself. I didn’t really notice how brilliant it was ’til it aired after Gladiators last night: Fumo serving the people dinner, the face of the dude at the kitchen table, the little head-tilt by Fumo at the end. Forget the State Senate, we need to get Vince Fumo a sitcom.

If I were Anne Dicker, I’d just show this ad on an infinite loop at one of her watering hole meetups; I can’t see how a night of drinking and watching this ad over and over could do anything but increase attendance.

Everyone Lining Up To Run Against Fumo

A.J. at Phillymag reported last night Johnny Doc is considering a run for Vince Fumo’s State Senate seat. With (bi hottie) Anne Dicker already running alpaca cartoons and related fun anti-Fumo ads and multiple posts on Young Philly Politics saying some people you’ve never heard of should run, it could be a crowded race come primary time. Will Larry West throw his hat into the ring?

Daulerio’s source sums it up this way: If Fumo wins the primary, he could drop out after it and essentially handpick his successor. Johnny Doc could swoop in and take the senate seat from the 30-year vet and then he could have all the alpacas he wanted. If only it was Pennsylvania and not New Jersey where alpaca farming is booming, maybe everyone could get along and vacuum up alpaca hair in peace.

Vince Fumo To Face Primary Challenge

The world’s greatest alpaca farmer/legislator will have a challenge next year: Noted bisexual hottie Anne Dicker recently announced she will run against Vince Fumo for state senate next year.

Dicker, you may know, nearly won a state house seat by running on an anti-casino platform, while Fumo invented the entire concept of gambling and brought casinos to Philadelphia. Fumo was also indicted on 139 counts of corruption earlier this year and has been known to wear a funny hat.

Dicker has a strong anti-funny hat policy, and told the Daily News this: “It’s absolutely ridiculous Vince Fumo is still in office - he should resign. I’ll let a jury decide his guilt or innocence, but his actions have brought a great deal of shame on this city.” Yes! I am certainly shamed by Vince Fumo using state money to install hardwood floors for Frank DiCicco or whatever.

Anne Dicker is expected to lose to Vince Fumo even if Fumo is convicted of murdering a hobo for sport, because that’s how politics work.

Michael Untermeyer Fever Is Spreading

Well! It looks like Philadelphia Will Do’s little candidate that could, Michael Untermeyer, is making some noise in the race for Philadelphia sheriff.

Untermeyer, as you may remember, promised the “Rocky statue” at a campaign rally — this was back when Rocky was in the news, in case you’re wondering — but then showed up with a black dude when the Italian dude couldn’t make it. In case you’re wondering, this is the kind of candidate Philadelphia Will Do wants, nay, needs.

Well, he’s apparently doing well in the polls against sheriff incumbent John Green. Actually, I’ve never seen any polls, so who knows. Maybe he’s only going to get 25 percent of the vote. But Green is ducking a debate with Untermeyer and our the man with the fake Rocky statue was recently endorsed by the Inquirer, too.

But no endorsement Untermeyer has received is stronger than the one from Anne Dicker, everyone’s favorite bisexual slot machine hater, on her new Ballot for Change blog.

Michael Untermeyer got the Inquirer’s endorsement for Sheriff today. Michael’s office is down the street from my apartment, just off of Headhouse Square, so I see him quite often on the street and say hi and talk to him about why he’s running. Sometimes you come to an office, because you’ve always dreamed of it Wouldn’t it be great to be like the Sheriffs in the Wild Wild West or perhaps even mock the sheriff like in the Dukes of Hazard.

Dicker: “Hey, Mike, how you doing?”
Untermeyer: “Oh, Hi, Anne.”
Dicker: “So why are you running again?”
Untermeyer: “Anne, I’ve told you fifty times! Do I really need to tell you why I’m running again?”
