A.J. Feeley Apparently A Viable Pitchman

I try to avoid linking to Channel 6’s website, because they have this annoying dude in a white shirt and glasses who pops up and tells you to buy a Toyota. I’ve been blocking these ads for forever, but when browsing on a different computer earlier this morning, I ended up realizing that KYW 1060’s website does it too!

And look who the pitchman — for some product I was able to forget the name of, thankfully — is: A.J. Feeley, ex-boyfriend of Heather Mitts and superstar backup Eagles quarterback. Unfortunately, I was not able to forget the 50-60 interceptions he threw this year in just two games, managing to throw the ball to the other team when driving for the game-winning touchdown in back-to-back games.

Anyway, with Feeley up on the website hawking something, it is only a matter of time before the ghosts of backup quarterbacks past begin popping up all over. Look for Jim McMahon to be pitching Delilah’s on this blog any day now.

Hey, A.J. Feeley Just Threw Another Interception

Hey, maybe A.J. Feeley sucks.

The Eagles lost yesterday, 28-24, to Seattle, pretty much eliminating the Eagles from the playoff hunt. The Birds are only a game behind sixth-place Arizona (really?) but lost tiebreakers to almost everybody and will probably also lose to Dallas. The culprit for this week’s astounding loss? Mainly Feeley, who some Eagles fans viewed as the Second Coming. These fans are now calling for Kevin Kolb, because they hate the Eagles’ Mormon quarterback and black coach. Or something like that. (Some of them are rationalizing: Well, McNabb would have lost, too.)

It looks like the Eagles had a shot yesterday after Brian Westbrook finally got to return a punt and ran it back 64 yards. Everybody thought he was going to score and it would be an incredible come-from-behind miracle win. But instead he was pushed out of bounds at the 14 and Feeley tossed a pick on third down. Feeley threw four interceptions, including three to Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatapu.

Feeley threw an interception on his first pass, the second straight week he threw one on the first series. He also ended the game with a pick for the second straight week. In two games, he has more interceptions than Donovan McNabb (7-6).

Meanwhile, even the defending champion Kixx are 2-5. They lost to the “California Cougars,” a team I didn’t know existed until just now. How dare the Kixx lose on Dance Team Calendar Night!
