Yesterday, Action News spent a full 2 minutes of its newscast reporting on the First Family of April Fool’s Day; the parents were born on the exact same day and their first born son was also born on April 1. (The wife also kinda sounds and looks a little bit like Jennaphr Frederick.)
Walter Perez then really gets things going, as he reads stats from a Penn researcher let us know the chances of sharing a birthday with your spouse is 1 in 365 (and a quarter, I assume) and later fools a mohawked child into believing he is on the Philadelphia Eagles. Uhh, April fool? Video after the jump.

Really, guys. I know this sounds weird coming from someone who runs a blog like mine, but don’t you guys have to report the actual news? This feels like an attempt at doing some sort of Daily Show-style report, only on the real news. And, uh, it’s two and a half minutes long!
Naw, I’m just kidding, keep doing dramatic exclusives on the missing M&M man. What’s on Lost this week!
It is amazing, though, that we have to put both “Action” and “News” in quotes when discussing this clip.

Erin O’Hearn’s weekly “Right Now On The Net” feature has showcased Brad Maule’s work on Phillyskyline and, last night, it showcased… online dating! This whole segment is worth is just to see the awkward interaction between Jim Gardner and O’Hearn at the end.

On Saturday, 6 ABC debuted its new show aimed at teenagers, called IMphilly. I’m not sure why Philly is lowercase in the title, but who knows. Basically, the show is Rick Williams in a leather jacket talking to teenagers; there are a few teen-oriented features, including one in the first episode about Redskins QB Mark Brunell’s daughter for some reason.
So.. yeah. A regular stupid boring teen show, and not even any YouTube moments. You will note, of course, that all the teen panelists are from the suburbs.

I try to avoid linking to Channel 6’s website, because they have this annoying dude in a white shirt and glasses who pops up and tells you to buy a Toyota. I’ve been blocking these ads for forever, but when browsing on a different computer earlier this morning, I ended up realizing that KYW 1060’s website does it too!
And look who the pitchman — for some product I was able to forget the name of, thankfully — is: A.J. Feeley, ex-boyfriend of Heather Mitts and superstar backup Eagles quarterback. Unfortunately, I was not able to forget the 50-60 interceptions he threw this year in just two games, managing to throw the ball to the other team when driving for the game-winning touchdown in back-to-back games.
Anyway, with Feeley up on the website hawking something, it is only a matter of time before the ghosts of backup quarterbacks past begin popping up all over. Look for Jim McMahon to be pitching Delilah’s on this blog any day now.

Have the rumors of Alycia Lane bikini photos brought Alycia Lane and Larry Mendte — the photos are of Alycia — to the top of the news charts? Laura Nachman has the preliminary sweeps numbers as of Tuesday and CBS 3 trails 6 ABC by just 1 share point (whatever that is) on the 11 p.m. newscast.
Action News — who seems to have been amping up its Erin O’Hearn commercials recently, if you’ve noticed — leads in the 11 p.m. ratings with an 8 rating/16 share, while CBS 3 trails just behind with an 8 rating/15 share. (Each ratings point equals one or two old people falling asleep after the weather. Each share equals nothing.) NBC 10 has a 5 rating/10 share. (The lead-ins are important, too, with CBS beating ABC beating NBC. I’m pretty sure the Peacock doesn’t even have a prime-time lineup anymore; it just runs infomercials.)
At 6 p.m., Jim Gardner (6 ABC) is way ahead with a 12 rating/22 share; Tim Lake (NBC 10) has a 4 rating/8 share and Mendte and Lane have a 4 rating/7 share. Obviously, viewers know if Alycia’s going to show her bikini, it’ll be at 11 p.m.
