Philadelphia Will Do

C’mon, Pa, To See The Fight-in’ Phils

The Fightin’ Phils Polka

Sorry for the lack of posting; something I thought was a server error is apparently just some Firefox extension breaking my cookies. (I think.) Anyway, for now enjoy this Phillies polka from 1950, performed by the Delaware County String Band.

The lyrics:

The Fight, Fight, Fight-in Phils! It’s a tough, tough, team to beat.
They’re out to win, win ev-’ry day. Every victory is sweet.
Watch ‘em hit that ball a mile; play a game that’s packed with thrills.
Get Pa to bring your Mother, Sister and your Brother
Come out to see the Fight-in’ Phils. The fight, fight, fight-’in Phils.

They are a tough, tough team to beat. Good point.

That is gold. But still, it’s not as good as “Back to Philadelphia PA” by Bobby Burnett. Which, sadly, I can’t find anywhere.

at least it doesn’t call them the “fightins” that’s the worst thing ever.

Really, I just like the idea that someone called baseball “a game that’s packed with thrills.”

    Even better
