Yep, this is what the newspaper is resorted to printing now that the usual letter writers are distracted by Philly.com’s comment sections. Definitely a long first week of Autumn. Nobody anywhere is in a good mood. The election is unbearable, the economy has collapsed, the sun hasn’t been out, everyone’s super busy for no reason. AND THE PHILLIES. It’s too nervous to even think, or write, about that. People are telling me, “Good luck this weekend.” Yes, yes, I’ll hit a few homers. But for now: Off the Internet for the night. I’d love to shut off Philadelphia for a few days, but I guess I have to let the Phillies give me a few heart attacks. Some updates over the weekend, honest! If you need to know that you can trust me, just bring a cat toward me and have it sense my, uhm, colored lights. |

absolutely brilliant. you can’t even make that shit up.
i know a handful of cops in “real” life [excluding my pops, who is incidentally, on highway patrol, and is a verifiable psycho], and i always forget to ask them to go check out domelights for themselves. i wonder how many rank-and-file members really know what kind of fantastically [and clearly unintentionally] hilarious shit gets said out there in the interwebz on behalf of their dept.

One can’t take the Internet as representative of real life much at all; I’d guess a large number “NOBAMA SUCKS!” posts on pretty much every news story on every website right now regardless of its relation to the election are an organized campaign for McCain. (Obama/Biden? Not a fan of youse but I can put together an untraceable jawn like this if you pay me enough.)
Anyway: What’s great is it’s impossible to tell who on Domelights is a cop and who is just an authority fetishist or a 13-year-old or a PW blogger pretending to be an idiot to stir up shit. (No, that’s a joke; I wouldn’t pull a Rob Neyer-like stunt.) I guess one could make a guess, but that’s no fun. My only worry about writing about the site is it’ll be made private, or taken down. It’s really the funniest thing on the Internet.
(Oh, yes. But don’t kid yourself: I’d guess there is a large percentage of the population who wants, essentially, legalized police brutality.)
