Larry Kane, Bus Rider

In a post about unsafe taxi drivers, legendary Philadelphia newsman Larry Kane lets this little gem slip:

I occasionally take a cab, although I prefer rail lines and city buses.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Larry Kane rides the bus? Good for him, I guess, but, um, really? I don’t think Ringo rides the bus.

Anyway, with this new information I’ve devised a new ad campaign for SEPTA that is sure to be a hit.

whoa whoa whoa slow down a minute there.

there are so many levels of disbelief on this

white people don’t ride the bus and when they do they’re certainly note jewish. Jewish white people don’t ride the bus and when they don they’re certainly not “famous”.

I can not believe a white famous jewish guy rides the bus.

This is better than when I saw George Mallet get off the El at the Gallery.

I don’t know, I once had a famous SEPTA bus *driver*. This drunk/high woman was chatting him up, and when she got off, she said, “What’s your name?” He said, “Ralph Kramden.”

This is a guy who wouldn’t come into a retail store until all customers were out of it, and if anyone came in he’d bolt! He hates people knowing how small is is and that the rumors of Diane Allen sitting in a hole on the set so she didn’t look taller than him are true! Ahhh vanity, thy name is television news personality….
