Great Moments In Late-July Programming
Yes, that is NBC 10, owned by General Electric, promoting the promotional week of a cable network not owned by GE. I think? Weird.
This photo is from the brief time when the Philadelphia 76ers were flirting with a name change to the Philadelphia 4Mers. |

This is very boring, but: NBC and the Discovery Channel have some cross-distribution and promotion agreements . . . for example, Discovery Kids shows on NBC channels Saturday morning, etc. So the Shark Week promotion is entirely understandable.
No need to preface with the ‘boring’ comment. I devour pointless newly acquired knowledge (i.e. trivia) like a shark. Thanks.
The NBC/Discover Kids ended a year or two ago.
Now I’d watch if the sharks ate Mr. Lake. That would be some good television.
