Ron Paul Achieves Stunning 16 Percent

RONPAUL

The real winner in Pennsylvania yesterday wasn’t Hillary Clinton or those of us who never have to see TV ads again. No, of course not: The real winner was none other than Ron Paul, who took 16 percent of the vote for second place in the Keystone State.

Sure, he didn’t beat John McCain — who clinched the nomination weeks ago — but, then again, only 73% of voting Republicans yesterday selected the GOP nominee. And Ron Paul beat Mike Huckabee (who took third) by around 35,000 votes! Meanwhile, in Bucks County the Ron Paul supporters were “few but proud,” says the Courier Times (which has already received a complain about it):

“Ron Paul speaks up and (appeals) to the college kids and the old-timers like myself,” said Joe Mallon, a 71-year-old Paul supporter from Upper Moreland. Mallon said he believes his party has been hijacked by a bunch of neo-conservatives. [...]

Some Republicans said a vote for Paul was a message vote — a way to tell their party they are not happy with its direction and presidential selection. Richard Dekalb, an 80-year-old Republican who lives in Ann’s Choice in Warminster, doesn’t like McCain and wanted to vote for “anything as far away (from him) as I could.”

Let’s all hear it for Ron Paul, the next president of the United States!

16% is not bad for the most marginalized candidate in history.

  2. ThomasJ Says: Apr 23 12:06 PM

I think you will find when the state convention comes around for the GOP that the delegates who are un-bound are going to be Ron Paul delegates.

It is one of the most un-reported stories around.

That is the point of our REPUBLIC. This is not a Democracy. When all is said and done I think many will be stunned at the results coming from the GOP national convention.

  3. Jon Says: Apr 23 12:08 PM

Ron Paul is a KKK member who wants to put all minorities in gas chambers to murder them, then he wants to burn their bodies in a big oven.

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for rich elitists who hate the poor and minorities.

  4. akk Says: Apr 23 12:54 PM

The previous story in this blog is about a cop having sex with a cow. The next story is about cheesesteaks. This is a great publication, LOL.

  5. Kyle Says: Apr 23 12:54 PM

So, most Republicans went out to vote for Hillary to do Rush’s bidding, or stayed home because the nomination is sewn up already, and we’re supposed to be excited that Ron Paul got 1 in 6 of those dedicated enough to show up anyway? Even considering the fact that he has the most rabid, cult-like following of any candidate I’ve seen? Forgive me for not being too impressed.

Just like clockwork though, his legions of Stormtroothers have begun spamming comment boards with their ridiculous claims about how the MSM “marginalized” him. Yeah that’s right guys. Blame the media who had him on debates and DIDN’T grill him about his isolationist foreign policy, his belief in looney conspiracy theories, his advocacy of the gold standard, his racist newsletter, his association with white supremacists and lunatics like Alex Jones, or anything else of that nature.

Don’t worry though. If you have $500 to your name, you can always go buy an acre down in Paulville, Texas. I’m sure that will work real well.

  6. tedsmith45 Says: Apr 23 12:56 PM

Thomas, try researching a subject before commenting, that way you may not expose your stupidity. Ron Paul’s moral credentials exceed everyone including The Pope. Read you fool - then come back here apologize and start supporting The Greatest Living Patriot Dr. Ron Paul.

The names are under the comments, people.

    To Jon: You said

“Ron Paul is a KKK member who wants to put all minorities in gas chambers to murder them, then he wants to burn their bodies in a big oven. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for rich elitists who hate the poor and minorities.”

Jon, are you a Ron Paul fan stirring up the board? Is the KKK comment (false) based on the famous 15 year old Ron Paul newsletters? If so, let me assure everyone that, although those old newsletters are pretty white-centric, and very blunt, there is no racism there, and Ron ain’t no KKK.

The writings contrast markedly with his published style, though they were published under his name. he’s never ducked the issue, saying he takes full responsibility for them. The head of the Austin NAACP issued a statement saying Ron is no racist, and he is in a position to know.

That is my reasoned response, but, in a world where everyone argued like Jon…they would probably respond to his post thusly:

Jon, Ron Paul is a great man - and you’re a big dumbhead, and you smell, and you want to murder puppies with a big rusty knife, and then you want to take all the dead puppies and sell them to depraved rich corporations for weapons research. Anybody who likes you is either stupid or mean - or both.

Hahaha - welcome to Jonland - where people argue like jerks!

    To Kyle: you said

“Blame the media who had him on debates and DIDN’T grill him about his isolationist foreign policy, his belief in looney conspiracy theories, his advocacy of the gold standard, his racist newsletter, his association with white supremacists and lunatics like Alex Jones…”

What-What-What???! - You listen to me right now young man - the ONLY reason they DIDN’T grill him was because they DON’T WANT people to HEAR HIS ANSWERS because HE MAKES SENSE AND EXPOSES THE OTHER CANDIDATES FOR THE FOOLS THEY ARE.

  12. Paultard Says: Apr 23 1:59 PM

Ron Paul is a great man who will bring much gold to our country, ban all taxes, and put a puppy in every pot. Anyone who doesn’t support him is a retard who can’t read and likes to have sex with goats.

Yeah that would make sense if Penn wasn’t a closed primary and Republicans couldn’t vote for Democrats.

Check your facts and then remember to remove head from anus before trying to spew your left garbage. K. Thnx.

  14. Jim Says: Apr 23 2:04 PM

I can’t support Ron Paul because he refuses to kill babies. The constitution clearly gives us the right to kill babies, so Ron Paul is a hypocrite.

Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that “there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between” Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like America Deceived (book) from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and save this great nation.

  20. 207 Says: Apr 23 3:14 PM

Didn’t Obama win Iowa because of all the evil Republicans switching parties? At least that’s what I heard from a Hillary supporter.

  21. Jon Says: Apr 23 3:16 PM

I don’t see how anyone can support a candidate who advocates the lynching of minorities like Ron Paul does. Conservatives are so hateful toward the disadvantaged it makes me want to puke.

  22. Jmeister Says: Apr 23 4:00 PM

Well, my impression of half these blogs are that they written by clones and sheep. When i refer to the sheep, these of the same people that follow others and do not independently think of the country’s problems at hand, and the clones are those that talk foolishly and without merit. Ron Paul is the best candidate that is addressing many of the serious problems we face as a nation. Wake up people!

  23. Shawn Says: Apr 23 4:14 PM

Jmeister is totally right. Ron Paul will rid our country of the scourge that are minorities and gays. They all need to be exterminated so that honest, hard working whites can go on with their lives in peace.

I fully support Ron Paul and will be working to make him our next president.

  24. Paula Says: Apr 23 5:58 PM

Jmeister is right and I hope you Shawn are joking, surely your not serious…if you are you have not done your homework at all.
Ron Paul is for the American people regardless of color, creed or belief etc. He brings us all together…remember liberty, freedom, peace and prosperity.
We are all Americans! Ron Paul has my vote!!

You guys are just what they want Divided. Ron Paul is the only credible man running. I would love to see a Character debate between Paul and McShame, How about a debate on trade or the Constitution. The America I grew up in is DEAD! and Im only 40, MOST OF YOU MCSHAME SUPPORTERS ARE REALLY uniformed about who and what McShame is, If the Greatess Navy on earth would not make him an Admrial, Why would you vote and make him Commander and Chief of it? What did they know? That your supporters don’t?

  26. Mike Says: Apr 23 6:26 PM

“rich elitists who hate the poor and minorities.”

The interesting thing is the that clinton/obama/mccain all vote against tax cuts and vote for deficit spending. These actions hurt the poor.

Ron Paul wants to reduce taxes, which will help the working poor keep more of their paychecks. mccain/obama/clinton are the elitists who don’t care.

Also, obama/clinton/mccain vote to fund the Iraq war, which sends more Americans to their death to protect oil in Iraq. Ron Paul votes against funding the Iraq war.

  27. Eric Nordstrom Says: Apr 23 6:42 PM

McCain is simply a third term for Bush.

    Vote Republican, vote Ron Paul.

  29. Kyle Says: Apr 24 8:14 AM

What’s really funny is the fact that it’s hard to tell comments from genuine Ron Paul supporters from the parody posts. Actually, that’s more scary than funny.

After Ron Paul loses the nomination, I think it would be a good idea to monitor his supporters to make sure nobody is stocking up on unusual amounts of Kool Aid. I have a bad feeling about their little cult compound that they’re planning to set up down in Texas.

  30. Red Leader Says: Apr 24 10:54 AM

Its always hilarious to hear the global welfarists say that non-interventionism is isolationism. In other words MORE involvement with the world means you are isolated from the world…pure comedy. Also its funny to hear them say Ron Paul followers are kooky….this coming from Amnesty McCain followers. McCain/Obama have some of the most radical fringe Anti-American ideas in American history. In the eye of the Amnesty McCain apologist though, truth is lies and an idea like the a government that follows the rule of law is something to be considered kooky. The ACTUAL kooks are the Amnesty McCain followers who want a mad man that tells you on national TV that he is incapable of doing his job or just simply furiously unwilling to do it. Silly Amnesty McCain kooks…you never fail to bring a smile to my face and a hearty chuckle to my throat. Go ahead and vote for the liberal democrat McCain and split the conservative vote. You’ll put Obama right in the Oval Office.

  31. Shawn Says: Apr 24 11:08 AM

I hate Amnesty McCain. He wants to bring all those dirty illegals into the country and give all the hard working whites’ jobs to them. They should all be beaten and deported for coming over here to destroy our economy and our moral values.

Everyone vote for Ron Paul. We MUST elect him president, and I can’t stress how important that is enough!

  32. Double D Says: Apr 24 1:07 PM

Sigh. Nothing like a comments area filled by Ron Paul idiots. It’s like a Special Olympic boxing match.

  33. Kyle Says: Apr 24 1:17 PM

    1) Using names like “Amnesty McCain” makes you sound like a third grader. REPEATEDLY using such names makes you seem like a retarded third grader.

    2) Who ever said I support McCain? Is this just another blanket assumption that Ron Paul followers like to hurl at those who refuse to accept Ron Paul as their Lord and Savior? Here are some others:

    - If you don’t vote for Ron Paul, you hate Freedom(TM)
    - If you don’t like Ron Paul, you get all of your info from the “MSM”
    - If you don’t like Ron Paul, you are a “sheep” who trusts the government with everything
    - If you don’t like Ron Paul, you obviously must support [insert name of candidate most relevant to the article whose comment boards you are currently on]

    These games are getting old.

  34. Jim Says: Apr 24 1:22 PM

A vote for Ron Paul and McCain is a vote for the mass extermination of the poor, minorities, women and homosexuals. All Republicans want to throw them into ovens to burn them or gas them in chambers. Say no to hate and vote Democrat.

  35. KR Says: Apr 24 1:41 PM

Many people seem to think that if Ron Paul doesn’t win this election that everyone will just give up and accept the way things are. Revolutions throughout history have taken years, however, people who really listen to what he says usually follow him. If you’re black, white, gay, pot smoker, christian, jew, business owner, waitress or any working American If you believe in his philosophy of limited government, free markets, liberty and peace it will help everybody. Obama, Hillary or McCain won’t talk about the Federal Reserve, IRS, illegal income tax, NAFTA highway, falling dollar for a reason. Ask yourself who is representing big business and who represents you. If you vote for people who don’t represent you, that’s all you deserve.

  36. Shawn Says: Apr 24 2:11 PM

Does Ron Paul really love blacks and gays? If so he just lost my vote. I’ll also make him lose as many more votes as possible. Us Southerners won’t stand for that kind of affront to hard working, moral whites.

  37. Tom deSabla Says: Apr 24 2:50 PM

People are kicking up a lot of dust and mud here, but why? Why not just admit what we all know deep in hearts to be true - big government is not sustainable.

Even if there were no Ron Paul - this is either true or it isn’t.

There are two great opposing forces in human affairs - statism and freedom. All other issues are really about these two concepts. There is no “race” issue - it’s manufactured bull from people who have an agenda - a big government agenda, a statist agenda.

The fact is that every statist thing that’s been done to help minorities has only served to retard their standards of living.

You can snipe at Ron Paul all you want, but it’s quite clear that he’s on the right side of history and economics. His ideas of individual freedom would do more for minorities in this country than any politician has ever done.

The fact is that handing out checks and starting new government programs is a stupid fantasyland way of dealing with a real world where, despite all attempts to pretend otherwise, PEOPLE MUST PRODUCE IN ORDER TO CONSUME.

That basic law of economic survival cannot be repealed.

A sustainable society with a steadily rising standard of living requires a certain minimum level of freedom. For just one example of this, the money must represent real value in the hand. It did here in America almost unceasingly for over 130 years. The final link to gold (foreign central bank convertability via the Bretton Woods agreement) was broken in 1971.

No great civilization has long endured when that link is broken. It makes no difference whether it’s Rome or Washington.

We are running on fumes here, on the vestigial remains of a great free republic. There is no longer any “there” there. We’re like Wily Coyote when he follows the Roadrunner off the edge of a cliff - for a while he keeps running like nothing is wrong. Then, he turns and looks at the camera.

What would he say if he could talk?

“We should have listened to Ron Paul! AHHHHHH”

  38. Jon Says: Apr 24 3:08 PM

It’s the government’s job to make sure people aren’t racists. If I weren’t a Democrat who is opposed to the death penalty, I would advocate it for racists. Being a racist is worse than murder.

  39. blakmira Says: Apr 24 7:17 PM

Can you name any politician or presidential candidate that has come out publicly and strongly against the War on Drugs because it targets minorities and the poor, other than Dr. Ron Paul?

    I hear crickets.

  40. Magistrate Says: Apr 25 7:52 AM

Since when did it become a radical/fringe idea to ask a person you hire to do a job to stick to the guidelines and job description of the job? I.E the president learning and following the constitution? People who say that’s a radical idea are the true nutcase kooks in this country. Also since when did blacks who admire Ghandi,MLK and enjoy the idea of personal liberties become classified as a Nazis? The mind of the McCain apologist is truly a strang thing.

  41. Kyle Says: Apr 25 8:08 AM

Could you be more specific, Magistrate? Does the Constitution forbid fiat money, or the creation of regulatory bodies with government oversight? Does it forbid us from entering into any treaties or using our military with Congressional approval to defend out interests? Does it forbid the collection of taxes? Which of the radical policies that Dr. Paul advocates is based on ending a current abuse of the Constitution?
