Now Your Parents Know How To Rickroll

Above: A speedy Rickroll for people like me with no attention span.

Yeah, so the New York Times ran an article about Rickrolling, and the Internet exploded. Sorry, I have goo all over me. The lead of the story was about the real life Rickrolling at a basketball game.

Kaboom. If you’re unaware of Rickrolling, ED explains it thusly: “To Rickroll is to intentionally misdirect one to a video of “Never Gonna Give You Up” from one-hit-wonder 80’s pop icon Rick Astley.”

As you may have guessed, the video of real life Rickrolling at the Eastern Washington women’s hoops game contains shots of people holding up anti-Scientology posters, because it is from the Internet. Yay Anonymous!

“The stunt provoked a variety of reactions. Many older spectators looked, by turns, puzzled or irritated. But the under-30 fans danced and sang, happy to participate in a rapidly spreading phenomenon with roots in their favorite medium — the Internet.”

Stupidest fucking sentences of all time.
