Media Just Like A Sad Puppy To Obama
Barack Obama’s big speech on race was like 84 billion minutes long. It was good and all — I mean, it was good when I was paying attention to it in the beginning — but then it kept going on and on. I especially liked the part where he was like, “My grandma was scared of black people!” Oh, you silly white people. Obama and Hillary “Rodham” Clinton aren’t just chilling in Philadelphia; they both have to go all over the state in order to get these people to vote for them and oh my God John McCain is going to be president, isn’t he? Anyway, apparently while up in the Wilkes-Barre area, Barack Obama was mean to The Times Leader, the paper of record:
You take that, Times Leader! It is interesting that for once Hillary Clinton is the warm-’n'-fuzzy lovable, hug-able candidate and Barack Obama is Mr. Meanie. But Obama is the one the press is in favor of, according to conventional wisdom; even though he treats them like crap, they keep coming back like a dog. Aww, good boy.
JGT and I stopped in Old Forge twice on a trip to Canada for some reason. We had pizza, which had, uh, onions in it. It’s definitely not bad, but, uh, it has onions in it. And it’s crunchy. If Hillary can eat and enjoy onion pizza, maybe it really is her girlhood home. Barack Obama Offends Latest Whiny Local Media Outlet [Wonkette] |

Now I understand speech is MORE IMPORTANT than action.
Obama is really good at talking gold out of trash.
American people are so EASY to be fooled.
who invited the hippies?
Very nice speach - well said and presented - he gets an “A” in public speaking and content, BUT this speach is a case of reaction to events.
This is not Presidential , but the actions of a person running for office trying to put out a fire storm. Did he do it. I do not think so. Will he win – I think he might due to his positioning of his race. He turns out to be a bigger cry baby than HRC..Wah – vote for me because of ( fill in the blanks) – for such a bright fellow and speaker I think he failed to address the Wright issue on a timely basis ( like 6 months ago). I ask you this. What else it out there that is going to require another speech of this sort..

Barack Obama wants to both eat his cake and have it. He wants voters to rise above race and religion, while appearing religious himself. He is in deep trouble if a spotlight is placed on the non-racial aspects of his own THEOLOGY. See:

Oh god is this the new ron paul thread? who invited the spambot?
First, we are choosing a leader not a legislator. There’s a huge difference. I’ve paid close attention to the policy positions of each candidate on their websites and the press. Anyone who spouts there are only Obama speeches but no Obama substance are clearly uninformed of deluding themselves.
Then there was today. Ohmygod.
This is the speech that should elect Obama. It was a great speech, in the tradition of those Americans who have led this country to greatness. It was a call to the tenets of idealism and unity on which the nation was founded, a union which was admittedly flawed in the beginning, and which will always be flawed to a certain extent, but which we need at least to make an attempt to perfect. Obama made it is clear that perfection of the union is a process. And he indicated that it’s inevitable - if it’s not this time, then the next time or the time after - that the issues currently dividing this country will finally be addressed. These issues should not be addressed with cynicism but with hope.
Don’t hate. Choose whom you will. Hillary or McCain. I will vote for Obama.
Waldo, You are a sap if you fell for that speech. In all the glorious rapture, he threw his own grandma under the bus. Some enterprising reporter ought to ask Michelle Obama, if when coursing the streets of the South Side of Chicago, she doesn’t draw her purse a little closer if she sees what looks like a gangbanger coming her way. To say that in any way an old woman fearing violence from someone who could possibly do her harm, black or white, is racisit is scandalous. (He relates a version of this story in his book—what granny was saying was that she had almost been assaulted and then feared taking the bus.) And to try to equate that with twenty years of vitriol, and to somehow make it excusable, is unbelievable.
But I believe it coming from him. For his brief time in the Illinois legislature, I didn’t see any leadership on his part on any of these issues.
