Philadelphia Will Do

Pa. To Be Barack/Hillary Battleground?

Although Pennsylvania didn’t move its primary up like a ton of other states, it turns out we might have a shot to make our primary votes count after all. Well, no, they won’t really count, but at least the 400+ people who called asking where to vote yesterday will be satisfied.

Suddenly, an endorsement by the mayor of Philadelphia looms pretty large, writes Dan Pohlig at The Next Mayor, in a post titled Suddenly, an endorsement by the mayor of Philadelphia looms pretty large. Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary is preceded by six weeks without any primaries on the schedule and is the last large-delegate state left on the primary map.

Both Ed Rendell and Michael Nutter have endorsed Hillary Clinton, however, and so they won’t be able to weasel anything out of the candidates asking for their support. Politically-interested area twenty-somethings, however, will be even more unbearable for the duration of the primary season.

Update: Dick Polman agrees, too! “Indeed, based on my conservations today, it is clear that there are serious plans afoot to contest Pennsylvania and to raise new money for the effort.”
