Okay, so there really isn’t any other way to do this than to just come out and say it: A jailbreak in New Jersey was pretty much the same thing as The Shawshank Redemption. Okay, so it was only a breakout of a county jail, which can’t be as hard.
Jose Espinosa, 20, of Elizabeth and Otis Blunt, 32, of Toms River, both charged with violent felonies, were being held in adjacent cells in a special housing area of the 15-floor jail in Elizabeth.
Using a tool Romankow would not describe, Espinosa dug out an 8-inch-high, 16-inch-wide cement cinder block from the wall separating the inmates, and Blunt squeezed into Espinosa’s cell, Romankow said. To hide the digging and their escape, the men covered the holes with magazine photos of bikini-clad women, Romankow said, and fashioned covered dummies in their beds out of pillows and sheets.
Dummies? So, it was also like another cinema classic, Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult. Right now, this is sort of too much. Now, was this New Jersey jail the location of the famed Alycia Lane bikini photos?
