But, wait, it gets better:

New Jersey chose Izod’s offer over a $1.4 million per year bid from Rocawear and a $2.1 million per year bid from Southpole, Zoffinger said.

My question is: Aren’t the Nets moving to Brooklyn?

just go to fucking church where you belong and stop talking about the Nets moving to Brooklyn.

  6. We Hate Bruce RATner Says: Oct 5 12:38 PM

In theory the Nets are moving to Brooklyn, however there is much community opposition to the move, mainly because the Frank “I am not an architect, but I play one on TV” Ghery monstrosity that is being planned is really not a basketball arena, but a smokescreen for a luxury condo development. Of course all the bullshit about how sports arenas benefit are trotted out, even though they are about as truthful as weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Plus, it also helps Ratner’s cause that the Brooklyn Borough President was scarred for life when the Dodgers left 50 years ago and is of the insane belief that the only thing that can fix Brooklyn is a professional sports team. Given that basketball is basically a sport played by thugs and wannabe rappers, one can hardly call it a professional sport.

Let us also not forget that there is a brand spanking new arena in downtown Newark, so there really is no need for yet another arena in the tri-state area.
