Okay, while Philadelphia may lead in murder-related categories, York sure has a ton of disgusting/interesting news! Yesterday, there was a man impaled attempting to get to the Papa Roach show. This was at the county fair, which also featured a woman soliciting girls around the age of 11 for exotic dancing! (She was wearing a polka-dotted dress, if you see her.)
Philadelphians are so weird we might have that too. But do we have long-winded comparisons of American Idol’s Chris Daughtry and the guy from Live?
Turns out Chris Daughtry and his band, cleverly named Daughtry with a debut album titled Daughtry, played the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, which is in RIchmond. If you want to know how different York is from Philadelphia, just realize that people from York head to Richmond for entertainment.
Chris Daughtry is compared to the most famous person to ever come out of York, Ed Kowalczyk, because anybody who somebody from York meets is compared to the lead singer of mid-90s post-grunge band Live. (”Ooh, he’s a good presidential candidate, but is he better than Ed?”)
I was looking forward to questioning Daughtry at Richmond about his relationship with Live and his upcoming appearance in their hometown at The York Fair. Typically celebrities and musical artists who appear at NASCAR Nextel Cup races go to the media center to meet with the press.
But I was surprised to find that Daughtry was not on the media center schedule in Richmond. Despite more than five hours between a noon sound check and the 5:30 p.m. performance, he said through his tour manager that he had “no time” for either a press conference or a brief interview.
I doubt that Daughtry’s a NASCAR fan, especially after the lukewarm reception he got from the Richmond fans. Master of ceremonies and radio show host Riki Rachtman could only do so much to drum up enthusiasm for a guy with trouble hitting the high notes on stage.
If Riki Rachtman can’t pump up support for you, who could? It’s nice to see that if you piss off the York Dispatch, though, you don’t go unpunished.

Well, I think you hit the nail on the baldhead. That was very very interesting. He is a copycat and always has been….He can’t hit those high notes….pitiful…hurts my ears to listen to the man. And if it wasn’t for Clive D. he would be a nobody…..
Well, I think you hit the nail on the head. That was very enlightening….thanks
I smell a Soul Patrol green with envy sour pickle!
DAUGHTRY rocks!!!!!!!!!ALWAYS WILL :)
I am from Philadelphia and am appauled at the fact that you would even have the balls to print something so rude that “philadelphian’s are so weird”. If you are a good reporter, you should know better than too categorize anyone. Oh and by the way, Daughtry has rocked his ass off every night for the past year and a half and continues to do so. So, my friend, my advice to you if you dont like the music, get some headphones cause Daughtry CAN sing and isnt going away.
PS…I thought your review of this sucked!
