Arlen Specter: Comedy Genius
Perhaps invoking some ancient provision in Scottish law concerning cruising for sex in public bathrooms, Arlen Specter has decided he wants Larry Craig to stay in the Senate. The toilet senator planned on stepping down on Sept. 30, but now he’s thinking of withdrawing his guilty plea and fighting an ethics investigation in the Senate. (This is a tremendous boon for the boys at Wonkette, and for those of us who enjoy humorous writing as well.) Craig said everything turned because of a call from our own magic bullet theorist himself!
There are a few options here, each one as good as the next. (1) Arlen Specter has been in the Senate too long1 and no longer understands anything. (2) Specter also cruises for gay sex in public restrooms. (3) Specter is a pod person from Mars. (Personally, I think this one is true.) (4) Specter enjoys hilarity as much as I do, and just wants to see where this thing goes next. Whatever the reason, more Larry Craig, Toilet Senator, sounds good to me. It’s probably that he’s so old that he thinks that gay means happy and is unsure of what a restroom is (Hello Depends!)

First this walking contradiction of a Senator Larry Craig pleads guilty in an a signed affidavit to the court to charges stemming from an incident of attempting to procure man on man sex in a airport restroom in an a signed affidavit to the court.
Now he saying he perjured himself in pleading guilty and he is really innocent.
Which is it Senator, guilty of sex crimes or perjury, only an elitist Republican would attempt to have it both ways. One can only wonder if all Republicans are this stupid.
Arlen Specter must be the most unpopular Republican in the senate next to Larry Craig today, what would possess him to talk Craig out of resigning, withdrawing a guilty plea after the fact is next to impossible.
Add Specter to the list of attorney’s I would never hire.

I have another theory. Specter WANTS Craig to look like a waffling moron - what better way to for once and for all push the extreme Right of the GOP off a cliff in a flaming bus…the whole lot of them. Maybe Specter is crazy like a fox…if the GOP has a brain in its collective head they will realize that they need to lose the White Right Wackos or they will not be able to win ANY seats ANYwhere. Except of course in Idaho and Utah OUTSIDE of Boise or Salt Lake…
i have always admired arlen’s ability to think for himself and not follow the GOBs (good ole boys) in the GOP. but… this is not one of his better “take a stand” moments. arlen, are you really buying the wide stance theory??? really?
Ive heard a few rumors about Specter, as well. Anyone else?
