He was brought to WCBS from Texas as a sports anchor replacing the legendary Warner Wolf, who was let go abruptly without even a chance to say goodbye on air.
In November of 2006, he became the anchor of the noon and 5 p.m. newscast with new hire Kristine Johnson. At noon they replaced Cindy Hsu and at 5 they replaced Roz Abrams and Mary Calvi. Then this June, they usurped veteran anchors Jim Rosenfield and Dana Tyler and became the anchors for the 11 p.m. newscast.
Still no amount of younger talent or other tweaks could get WCBS out of third place, and they sometimes finish behind one of the Spanish newscasts at 11.
And John Bolaris is on his way out after getting very limited air time in favor of former soap opera star Lonnie Quinn.

Alycia Lane is a reason why tv news has suffered. Her personal life splattered ALL over the tabloids.
Guys–she is pretty but makeup and lighting do a LOT for Ms. Lane. There is a REASON why she can’t stay married and let’s NOT blame it on long distance or her ex husband supposedly cheating on alycia behind her back. The reason she can’t stay married is the reason the station doesn’t want the public or the viewers at large to know: Alycia is totally unstable. She can barely hold it together and she shows little respect for people who try to make her look good. Guys- the reason she Can’t stay married is because she is unstable and Alycia “chooses” the worng situations. SHE needs to come clean and admit that she has a problem (not just on DR PHIL) before she wrecks more marriages. G-d only knows how many she has wrecked behind the scenes and Not just the high profile ones we hear about (ie. Chris Wragge and Rich Eisen) Suzy Shuster–G-d bless u for standing up to Alycia Lane.

Anyone know why Alycia Lane does a Woman’s View on CBS???
The station realized early on Alycia wasn’t clicking with female viewers and they paid way too much money and invested way too much in her image to just drop her like a sack o’ potatoes.
So cbs created a woman’s view with alycia lane…wow alycia’s come a loong way toward wrecking that image

Too bad sooo few of the viewers know what an unstable person alycia lane is. she presents an alter ego on the news and her station promotes her as if she is thsi worldly prompter reader. But sadly that is all she is. She has trouble initiating anything on her own and constantly blows up at people when she is in a bad mood day. She has little regard for the people who try to make her look good on camera…one more example in a list of how Alycia treats people around her. And the reason she Can’t stay married…guys, let’s NOT blame it on long distance or her ex cheating behind her back as she claims. Alycia has a pattern of “choosing” wrong situations. Why? Because she is unstable. Only wish she would come clean and admit that she has a problem deeper than can be fixed on DR PHIL (before she wrecks more marriages)

Anyone know why CBS created a Woman’s View with ALycia (the HIGH MAINTENANCE QUEEN) LANE?
The station realized Early on Lane WAS NOT CLICKING with female viewers (because women don’t get diverted by ms. lane’s looks as easily as heterosexual men)…gee I wonder why women don’t like Alycia Lane…it’s not just instinct.
Alycia’s former boss who hired her originally defended the Lane at all costs cuz he thought he had a shot at banging her. Well he didn’t.
When Gail SHister wrote stuff about Alycia that didn’t please Alycia–Alycia complained to her boss who threatened Shister (trust us–those of in the know know Alycia is a catty type who will dump even on Gail SHister the Queen of Talk in Philly). So Alycia complained and her former boss who is now at wcbs screamed at SHister and warned he would destroy her image. So Shister laid off. Same thing with Stu Bykofsky.
So ALL U GUYS WHO DON”T KNOW THE REAL ALYCIA__WISEN UP. THE REAL ALYCIA IS A PAIN THE ARSE.
