Philadelphia Will Do

Mark B. Cohen Is The Bill James Of Phillyblog

Cohen

Mark B. Cohen is really interested in Phillyblog stats. Apparently Eldondre is the Babe Ruth of Phillyblog, setting a record that will not be broken for years and years.

Eldondre made his made his 20,000 post yesterday, hitting at least 20,013. He is certainly setting a pace in this area that will be very hard for anyone of the 16,062 people who have joined us so far, or anyone who joins subsequently, to ever match.

Eldondre’s achievement inspired me to look at the other top-posting phillybloggers. I found a total of 81 who had 999 or more posts, and I know I did not have enough time or enough determination to pester those with access to create a printout of the database to cover everybody. I therefore would welcome any additions there might be to this list.

The following is a list of all posters of 999 or more posts that I was able to find searching various sections and threads. The numbers listed are the number of posts at the time I checked them yesterday; dedicated posters may have added more.

I commend all of the people on this list. Speaking out is a good thing that does not happen enough in today’s society. Speaking out gives one a better sense of what one believes in, and helps create a composite portrait of what the most dialogue oriented of internet savvy people with roots in Philadelphia are thinking. I am grateful that you are giving me and many others an opportunity to both engage with you, and to listen to what you have to say.

The vast majority of phillybloggers, of course, are not on this list. But many will be on future similar lists. The first 100 or so to reach the 1000 or so posts milestone deserve especial praise, but I have little doubt that there will soon be hundreds of others, and then thousands of others who match or exceed the milestones set here.

You know what? This is even more awesome than Ed Wade getting stuck in a tree.
