Vai Sikahema, the NBC 10 anchor and uncle of Napoleon Dynamite, has written a few words on his blog advising Michael Nutter (or Al Taubenberger) what his administration should do for the next four eight years:
But in my observation, it’s clear to me that the one mayor who had his finger on the pulse of the city was Ed Rendell.
One reason I think he did was because Rendell was a huge sports fan! To a great extent, you could argue that if a politician understood his constituents’ passion for their local sports teams, he or she might understand better how to serve them.
Rendell wasn’t just a casual sports fan. He was fanatical! I’m not suggesting Michael Nutter do be a fanatic, but Rendell even got street cred when he actually threw a snowball onto the field at veteran stadium during a Cowboys game.
Oh man, what if Olivia Nutter threw a snowball at Tony Romo? Oh, man, I bet she could be elected mayor if she did that, age restriction or not.

Ed didn’t actually throw the snowball; he offered $100 to a guy if he could hit the field from where they were sitting. At least that’s my recollection of the Steve Lopez column that reported it.
