Postal Rate Increase To Cause Confusion, Panic

Forever!

Today is one of the last days you will be able to mail a stamp for simply 39 cents: On Monday the cost of mailing a first-class letter will go up to 41 cents.

For those of you not smart enough to purchase the Forever Stamp, you will have to pay a full 41 cents for a first-class letter. If this somehow confuses you, that’s okay:

If a customer has any questions, [USPS spokeswoman Cathy] Yarosky says, postal clerks will be able to easily explain the new guidelines starting Monday.

I’d suggest if you have problems figuring out a two-cent postal rate increase, you best just stay home.

A Forever Stamp is 41 cents as well. So smarts makes no difference in how much you pay for your stamps.

What’s with the last sentence ? Snide and arrogant ! Not a great way to end an article.

Well, there’s a little bit more to it than the 2 cent increase on letter mail. Have you seen the new “shape based” pricing? I’d say not.
