Is it sweeps already? NBC 10 has not one but two stories about porn already this week, and we still have three days of the 11 o’clock news to go!
The first porn story is about the deep dark seedy shocking revelation that — gasp! — porn is being made right here in Philadelphia.
Somehow, the story begins with a viewer angered she’s getting porn spam text messages. NBC 10 traces them to — where else? — the National Watch & Diamond Exchange on 8th Street. Uh, let’s just let NBC 10 explain their Woodward & Bernstein work they let a viewer do for them:
The NBC 10 Investigators found out that one of the Web sites that sent her a text message was R.S. Duffy in Philadelphia.
The address for R.S. Duffy on South Eighth Street was actually home a National Watch & Diamond Exchange jewelry store. It appeared our search had hit a dead end.
Then, computer savvy viewer Noah Webster called us saying, “I saw your story on NBC 10.”
“Within half an hour, I found the actual owners,” Webster said.
He showed the elusive trail he uncovered on the Internet, beginning with R.S. Duffy at the same address as the National Watch & Diamond Exchange. State records showed the National Watch & Diamond Exchange is owned by Richard Cohen, who is also the CEO of a major Philadelphia company right around the corner at Seventh and Chestnut streets called National A1 Advertising.
“They’re the leading provider of phone sex lines, chat lines,” Webster said.
This was, apparently, Monday night. After this revelation, I guess, Lu Ann Cahn hung out with South Jersey’s Tommy Strada. NBC 10 said: “Some of you might know him as Tommy Gunn, his professional name that he uses in the pornography industry.” Yes, because the male porn stars are just so well known!
Apparently, though, being a porn star isn’t cool or something, even though it’s just sex — and by “it’s just sex,” I mean “it’s sex!!” — and NBC 10 confronts him on it:
Gunn got a little sensitive when asked what a nice guy like him is doing in a business like pornography.
“I can kick the door down and shoot everybody in the head over a drug deal on TV, but the minute you see somebody naked it’s a big deal,” Gunn said.
Gunn said his wife is a porn star too. He admits the marriage isn’t going well, but still defends his career choice.
“For me, it’s an honest living. I’m not doing drugs. I’m not hurting anybody. I’m not doing anything illegal,” Gunn said.
Coming up next on NBC 10: Lu Ann Cahn stars in a porn herself! Well, probably not, but I think that’d be a ratings grabber.

I would definitely watch Luann Cahn porno.
I told them it took me about three minutes to find the owner and location of escorts.com-I think they added “1/2 hour” to make it look like it actually took me some work since their crack team couldn’t find chicken on a chinese menu.
First off, their research was so stupendous that they failed to google “philadelphia porn”, which clearly shows that 6abc had a similar story a year earlier. Additionally, no one in their “investigative” team seemed to know that you could look up corporate records to find a business owner, or that you can look up addresses to find property owners. To help them out further, I’d suggest that they tie their shoes before the walk.
Secondly, the story was to be about helping a woman who was being charged for unsolicited pornographic text messages that were promoting escorts.com. I gave them information which proved that verizon-who was charging the lady getting pornographic text messages, is also profiting from escorts.com by providing corporate internet server services to the company-which plainly violates their own Verizon Business terms of service. This is the job of the investigators-to provide suitable answers for consumers so that they can get solutions. With this information they could of gone back to verizon and formally complained to get her money back, and several others wouldn’t be subjected to verizon’s double dipping; instead, they do a b.s. fluff piece stating that a porn star is from new jersey-wow, I’m shocked.
I also provided nbc with statutes which show that national’s business is in violation of philadelphia’s obscenity laws. I showed her the law that makes unsolicited pornographic text messaging illegal. I showed them that national doesn’t just own a porno company, but also telecommunications companies. I really don’t care what national does, but luann’s quote in her own story is “none of this is illegal”. NBC10 further show their own ineptitude by showing in one line that the owner of escorts.com said “we never, ever would something like this” only to say a breath later “We do get a commission but it’s not much”. So they don’t have anything to do with it, but make a commission; meanwhile, they have nothing to do with it, yet they own over 3000 domains, one of which just happens to be escorts.com?
They couldn’t even get Tommy Gunn’s philadelphia connection correct, which is rather interesting-he’s the guy who designed “the cave”, a popular ladies’ club.
