Smerconish To Audition To Be Next Don Imus
Oh-ho-ho! Monday morning, guess which local conservative, uh, “big talker,” will be simulcast on the MSNBC slot most recently occupied by one Don Imus? That’s right: Dan Gross reports it’ll be none other than Michael Smerconish. For his big MSNBC show on Monday, Smerconish’s guests Monday will include (please note, I am not making this listup):
If there is one way for NBC to capture the ratings Don Imus once had, I can’t think of any better way than Jackie Mason and Jon Anderson. Next week: the late Henny Youngman and Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull1! 1 Please note: The neutrality of Jethro Tull’s Wikipedia page is disputed. Smerconish show on MSNBC Monday [Daily News] |

doesn’t matter I try not to watch due to Imus firing and the airing of the VT killers videos. It unnerved me.
Wow! What a relief to hear someone talk about the reality that the world is a great place.
I am talking about the segment with Jon Anderson and some of the comments I heard Jon say to Mr. Smerconish.
I once bought Jon a V8 juice after a concert, when I saw him sitting at a table in the HYATT resteraunt in Nashville, Tennessee in the early 70’s (I did inhale…). After it was delivered to him he looked around to see where it came from. He then got up from his table and came over to sit with me and my friends to talk. He was/is a very nice guy.
The dialog between Smerconish and Jon was in a current events format. It just had a totally different and “hopeful” feel to it. It was really nice to see the guitarist and hear his story and the story of the young people being influanced by the great classic rock music.
It is nice to see Jon Anderson still doing what he has done for many of us throughout the years.
Entertain and communicate with a since of connectiveness to his fans.
It seemed to be a bit different than what you heard through the Imus show.
Not that I did not like the Imus show. I have listened to the MSNBC simulcast for a couple of years. I felt that one of the things I liked best about the Imus show was that they talked about things that the other shows seemed to avoid.
Autism, problems in the White House and the administration, the since of hypocrasy of the support for the troops when they are being shot at and leave them to “drown” in bureaucracy when they come home, and corporate America caring more for themselves than the employees and/or the customer. These were the topics I enjoyed on Imus.
The cutting down of others while sometimes entertaing was really kind of uncomfortable most of the time. Yet this is what has become “entertainment” in our current culture.
I will miss the Imus show but I look forward to listening to Mr. Smerconish. I whish him and MSNBC well. I look forward to learning how to be entertained with less cutting down and more true common courtesy.
May the peace that passes all understanding be with us all!!!!!!!!!!!
I will sign off singing “I’ve seen all good people turn their heads each day
so satisfied I’m on my way………………..
