Tom Knox: Gays Play Hard, Work Harder

The Philadelphia Gay News ran question-and-answers with the candidates in last week’s issue and the results were kind of interesting. Michael Nutter doesn’t support same-sex marriage, though he supports giving all the benefits of marriage to same-sex couples.

Dwight Evans supports abstinence-only education, while Bob Brady’s answer to that question was: “I support all education on any level.” Evans did give my favorite answer to any question, in response to a query if he had any gay staffers: “I don’t know. I’ve never asked.”

But the best answer to that or any question certainly comes from Tom Knox:

Yes. I have gays working both on the campaign and in the workplace. Gays tend to be studious workers.

“And Asians, man, are they ever so smart. I hire a lot of them. Italians make-a the good pasta, and if I had a bar, I’d love having Irish customers, since they drink so much. And if I ever buy a basketball team, you know I’m going to have a ton of black people on it!”
