Judge: You Can Pry Internet Porn From My Cold, Dead Hands
Whoo! Internet porn is now free to, uh, roam the Internet! Yesterday, a federal judge right here in Freedom City itself, Philadelphia, struck down the 1998 Child Online Protection Act (COPA), writing he “may not turn a blind eye to the law in order to attempt to satisfy my urge to protect this nation’s youth by upholding a flawed statute.” Awws yeah! And, then, he laid out this beautiful sentence:
Oh snap! Let all of us — the porn stars, the porn consumers, the free-speech lovers — use our free speech to praise one U.S. District Judge Lowell A. Reed Jr. today. Federal judge in Phila. strikes down pornography measure [Inquirer] |

Judge Reed’s statement that “he may not turn a blind eye on the law in the name of protecting chioldren.” And “indeed perhaps we do the minors of this country harm if First Amendment protections are chipped away in the name of their protection” are to of most assinine statements of from any judge of all time. He is not referring to the Firts Amendment but precedent -which is not law.
Any reading of the First Amendment will not reveal a protection for pornography. It is there only if one turns the english language on its head. Speech is speech and not an action. To say that ‘free speech’ protects the staging, production, selling and exhibiting of pornography is the mark of a Constitutionally and language illiterate judge. Nowhere in the American lexicon is speech defined as physical action. To get around this, some judges have used fancy, inane phrases such as, “emanations of the penumbra” ha.
Judge Reed is another hack in the pocket of the ACLU. For lying about the 1st amendment with the intent denying America its underly constitutional right of self determination -this judge needs to be impeached along with some others.
