Local Angles To National Story
“Possible Local Victim of Pet Food Recall,” bellows the subhead on the Action News story about the pet food recall, and hot damn, there is a possible victim. That ugly dog over in the photo to your right is an unfortunate victim of the pet food recall, and right now it’s at the University of Pennsylvania Vet Hospital, possibly an upcoming recipient of Barbaro-style cards, letters and prayers. The dog isn’t really a victim of the recall, though; he’s a victim of, uh, whatever it is that’s contaminated the food, since the company that made the food doesn’t know yet. But there’s another pet food recall local angle. The company that made the recalled food is Menu Foods; it supplies over 90 brands of cat and dog foods that have been recalled. (Yes, the leading brands of pet food are all produced at the same factory. Of course they are.) And one of the plants that produced the tainted food is in Pennsauken, N.J. And, of course, there are even more local angles. Some people might’ve purchased the recalled food.
The vet just hated your cat, ma’am. Of course, this big national story will soon fade from the spotlight, as have you heard about the teacher who had an affair with a student and her husband shot and killed the kid? It amuses me to think of all the people who splash out for Iams and Eukanuba finding out they could’ve just been buying Walmart brand.
GOVERNMENT/FEDS need to do something about this shady company. The company knew for months had been receiving complaints for months from consumers. Pets have rights too!!

Lucky you don’t live in here in Australia - for making moronic remarks like that against beautiful dogs and pets in general, we’d have thrown you to the crocodiles or at least put a couple of funnel-web spiders down your trousers. This whole recall thing is very scary for a lot of pet owners. We love our pets like they’re our children and don’t appreciate your taking this scare so lightly. And that’s really sensitive of you calling a Pug ugly when it’s been poisoned! Talk about adding insult to injury… literally! I’ve yet to meet a dog I thought was ugly, and am certain that I could never find an ugly Pug. You’re a creep!
It appears that you are a very cruel and disturbed person to be making the comments about the poor pug or other poor animals that are affected by this unfortunate problem with the dog food.
First off, animals are living breathing things and deserve the same respect. As for calling the pug ugly, you have a right to your opinion although I strongly disagree. Yes to most of us our pets are members of the family and our children.
I hope your human children are beautiful enough for you!! Never, ever would I comment on how ugly your child is. Just shows what lack of character you have and hopefully you’re NOT a pet owner because quite honestly if you are, I feel sorry for the animal!!!
I always find it disturbing to hear from people who have no compassion for the creatures that depend on humans for their care.
This pug, and millions of other dogs and cats around the country, were victims of negligence by a corporation. To the people who own and love them, they are like their children. When I read comments like yours, it just goes to remind me WHY I love my dogs more than most humans…they are vastly superior intellectually and compassionatly to you and many who think like you.

How would you feel if your human child, or if you have none, a niece, nephew, beloved friend, your mother, etc., had been poisoned and was lying in a hospital fighting for their life and some heartless “journalist” did a story on their plight and said, “This hideous person pictured is fighting this grave condition”?? IF, and probably a BIG “if” you have any loved ones, I feel you’d find it a horribly cruel thing to say. Your opinion of the pug’s looks has nothing to do with the poisoning situation!! Do you call black people you write about “niggers”? Do you write about Italians as “Dagos”? Would you call me a “Nazi” because I’m of German heritage?? I can’t believe that your article even made it into print. Your cruel and inhumane comments towards sweet animals that people consider their children is proof that anyone can write a bunch of crap down and get published in a newspaper. IF you even have a journalism degree- which I doubt-since it’s not like you need one to write in a paper- it isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on if you weren’t taught the value of tact.

As a dog owner and a proud pet advocate I can say for sure that you people are some of the must fucked up nuts I have ever come across.
I read this Blog everyday, because it is funny. He takes serious and not so serious issues and pokes fun at them, if you are too sensitive to enjoy that, the internet is not the place for you. PBS is always on for your entertainment.

So Dmac (who, for the purposes of this website, is a blogger, not a reporter, by the way) is somehow subhuman for expressing an opinion that pugs are not the most attractive of animals (while simultaneously not wishing said ugly animal any harm). But it is perfectly acceptable for people to come onto his website and wish him lifelong diarrhea; diseased testicles; pain, mouth numbness, vomiting, abdominal pain, sweating and salivation, and possibly death due to spider bite; and, if he survives that, death by crocodile.

I once thought pugs were adorable. But after reading this series of moronic comments I have changed my mind: I now know that pugs are evil and able to emit some kind of mind control beam to turn their owners into total dipshits. I also now think they are ugly.
P.S. To pug owners: What’s it like to be as smart as your pet? Is it hard to suffer the humiliation of having to interact with other humans who aren’t mental defectives? Or is it cool to have another friend who likes to eat his own doo and paw at the animals inside the TV.
