As If You Needed A Reason To Avoid The Sunday Inky
Ooh, can you just not get enough of Michael Smerconish? You are in luck. The conservative talker and Daily News columnist will now hold court in the Inquirer on Sundays as well. Smerconish sent a letter to a bunch of colleagues saying he was very excited, he’s still doing his Daily News column and he’s happy the Inquirer is finally ending its era of liberal bias, i.e. He’s happy they’re giving him money. He also writes, “I’m told that writing separate columns for competing newspapers is unprecedented,” which is probably true, I suppose. Oddly enough, he was profiled by the Inquirer (.pdf) in mid-December. Anyway, I believe further evidence that this man is simply muzzled — ahh, like his book! — by the media and unable to get his message out with his daily radio show, newspaper columns in the two biggest papers in Philly, appearances on cable news channels, his Of Counsel relationship with The Beasley Law Firm and his possible talk show. I was about to write: “Also unprecedented: Smerconish’s level of self-absorption.” But then, I remembered Byko.
