No Separate Deli Lines For Saints Fans At Acme

With the Eagles set to take on the Saints tomorrow in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs, media sources all across the area are sharpening their best reporters to put out their best “Eagles fans cheer on Eagles” stories, especially since it’s kind of a slow time in the year.

The Camden Courier-Post’s Michael Burkhart gets that duty in today’s paper, and he talks about how people in offices are going to wear Brian Westbrook jerseys over their suits and how some woman has the Monday Night Football theme programmed to play Fridays in her cubicle.

He also reports on the conditions at the state’s 60 Acme Markets:

At the 60 Acme Markets in New Jersey, employees are encouraged to wear Eagles garb, said spokesman Walt Rubel, who added the chain is the “official supermarket of the Eagles.”

“They love it,” he said.

Still, employees are not forced to root for the Eagles, said Rubel, adding there may even be a few Saints fans who work there.

Acme: Protecting your constitutional rights to root for whichever football team you choose for, regardless of what city they play in or if their opponent’s official supermarket is Acme.
