Nutter Proposes Soon-To-Fail Idea
Mayoral hopeful Michael Nutter has proposed a way to keep himself in the race: Weekly debates between the candidates! The candidate who calls for the scheduling of a debate or two is usually the candidate with the best chance of gaining something from debates, but Nutter has gone a little further here and suggested debates every week starting in January. While this would be a good way of supressing voter turnout — could you imagine wanting to even think about these stupid candidates after 37 debates? — it seems a little unlikely to happen. The best he can probably hope for is Tom Knox piggybacks on his idea and calls for debates every week as well. Then those two can duke it out every week with their brilliant plans for the city while Bob Brady or whoever collects actual votes behind closed doors. Hey, it’s how Philadelphia works! |
